I experienced more difficulty in crossing sand dunes than water crossings. A video on sandy roads might be of help.

Aah, that is true as well.. at places where there is sand on the road, the tires do get stuck. However such places/sections are pretty less or only handful.

Hi Dheeraj are many water crossings from Srinagar to Manali and Leh to Manali?as m travelling in a hatchback and also in September month.if yes then where wud be these crossings
@discoverwithdheeraj
@discoverwithdheeraj 3 жыл бұрын
Komal, in September most of the water crossings will be very tamed and easy to pass. Srinagar Leh do not have any water crossings to be worried about. Manali Leh has some between Pang to Sarchu to Baralacha La Pass to Darcha. However, none to be much worried about in September. I hope by now you have seen my self-drive tips video for hatchback and sedan for general guidance.

Should we switch off the engine of the bike after crossing the water patch or just keep it running till we inspect the bike ??
@discoverwithdheeraj
@discoverwithdheeraj 3 жыл бұрын
Abhi I feel that you should keep it running till you inspect and once you are sure that water has not got in it (which pretty much will be the case as it is still running) but worth a caution before you switch off 😀

Most of the water crossings are now covered but because of rains there could be few that can popup here and there

In 2022 July, where are the dangerous water crossing in Srinagar-Leh-Pangong-Hanle-Tso Moriri- Jispa- Manali route? Can you tell us the locations?
@discoverwithdheeraj
@discoverwithdheeraj 2 жыл бұрын
Most of the water crossings are now covered by pipes so they are not that dangerous anymore. Unless weather turns upside down, you should not have any issues with water crossings, in fact may not even notice. However, in case of rains, there could be few which can bubble up. Best is always to leave early so that water is less in the water crossings but if it continuously rain then it shall not matter.

Can we God ladakh from manali leh highway in May end or June 1st week by tempo traveller?? We have 17 peop9
@discoverwithdheeraj
@discoverwithdheeraj 3 жыл бұрын
Well generally the Manali Leh Highway opens by end of May or June first week. It is in general recommended to wait for a week or so for roads to get stable. However, this year with opening of Atal Tunnel, I expect Manali Leh to open much earlier as BRO team need to open Baralacha only. So, as of now it looks OK to plan a trip at that time but again this will be first year after opening of Atal tunnel so time will tell for sure.

I do not offer any tours, plz beware of folks who do it in my name or similar name with some spelling changes here and there. They fool people by confusing. If you want some reliable contacts, well, 1. First you can check the contact number of local drivers including Tempo ones at the link here: devilonwheels.com/list-of-taxi-drivers-for-ladakh-srinagar-leh-manali/amp/ They can also help in finding stays up there for you when you travel with them. 2. You can also check with Gurmat Namgial in Leh for complete arrangement +91 94199 80089
