Depression seems to be common amongst creative people who have found something to be passionate about. Keep breathing.

I've been through clinical depression and I can empathize with you. This is a terrible thing to go through and I hope you feel better.

Dude, I know how that is. I just came out of a fairly bad episode myself. I had to drag myself out of bed for work and class, and finally I ended up watching the Emperor's New Groove, and trying to ignore the huge anachronisms in it. Anyway, I'm cheering for you. And I hope things start to look up soon.

Depression is a serious topic...I also lost a good friend and colleague to his depression... We need to share more our feelings... It's a shame, that depression is so ridiculed! Every time I feel depressed, I try to work, maybe not the best way, but it is a way...

The ignorance of people who have never suffered from clinical depression is one of the most frustrating things about having clinical depression. No matter how much evidence there is that clinical depression is a real illness caused by a medical condition, people never comprehend that the pain is as real as that suffered by people with physical illnesses. Not even doctors, who should know better, take depression seriously. People with physical disabilities get sympathy for their illnesses, while those of us with mental illnesses get blamed for our illnesses and are expected to be able to function just as well as people who don't have to fight a debilitating illness. So basically, we're just left to suffer on our own since nobody really understands how real the pain is and that it's not something you can just snap out of any more than you can just snap out of having cancer. Clinical depression does have more intense periods that can last for weeks at a time, which I'm sure you're aware of, just try to remember that eventually you should be back to a more manageable level of depression. I just had severe episode of depression for a couple of weeks that was so bad that I could barely eat, and I know it's hard to remember when clinical depression is at it's worse that you'll eventually be back to something at least more bearable.

I recon if one is a creative sensitive Human Being living on a planet with all the shit going on, wars.. people not caring for each other, selfish materialistic attitudes etc. etc. It's not an easy path. Keep the Faith. Stay aware. Thanks for your video man. peace and love jB .

Stay strong, you're not alone. "Time heals all things" - big cliché, but it offers some comfort nevertheless.

Borgnrox Time heals all things isn't an expression that works well for clinical depression since it's a life long chronic illness.I know you're trying to be helpful, but there's a huge difference between sadness and clinical depression. Clinical depression is being depressed even with no external reason to feel bad.

I understand your point. I also suffer(ed?) from recurring depression. What I am trying to say is: time allows you to change your mindset, and helps you see new things, and see them differently. The fact that we are always 'progressing' through life/time offers some optimistic relief. It allows us to try new things. I am doing my MA in archaeology, so I can somewhat relate to the stress that could be intrinsic to the profession. What worked for me was a spiritual awakening. Sometimes changing your lifestyle changes the mindset you thought was inherent to your personality. :)

Sorry to hear you are having a depressive episode, I have had many so I know they are no joking matter. Its ironic that I am a mental health therapist but I guess it really helps with empathy. I really encourage you to get on some medication and get a good therapist you can relate to. It is a great help in countering the negative self messages. Its importa nt to rember that our brain can lie to us when depressed and we need help in not believing those negative messages. Also, just remember that the world is full of assholes and you cant fix stupid! Best regards.

If you're going through hell don't slow down. Get outside and exercise. The endorphins will do you good. Stay busy. I'm serious as a saint about the exercise and getting out a bit.
