i use a similar method with different colored carabiners. what you say about folding the tarp the same way every time really helps. you dont have to think about it. no untangling or trying to remember what went where. good stuff

Yup, been using the idea of "tagging" tarps since being a Quartermaster in the Scouts, except we used black or blue spray paint to mark ok for stopping rain, red for ground tarp. The position of the grommets though, that's a new one. Lol

Do some more wild plants in the wild and tell us what they're used for. I know you know a lot about wild plants.if you could show us how they look in the while around other plants would be very helpful. I've got field guidesnice to see a picture and someone pointing out what the item is and what it can be used for. The great videos I've been watching you and telling people to watch you.

Old style woodland camo ponchos, are the best survival kit. Use as waterproof, stretcher, shelter,river crossing, and camo concealment. The worst thing NATO Forces did, was remove this item from being carried on webbing. It no good being back at base in your rucksack. If you are carrying your rifle , you should have your poncho/tarp with you. It is a life saver !

@@BLACKIETHOMAS What's really neat for me is that we will be showing your videos (along with those of some other bushcrafters) to our grandkids during the outdoor camp we do for them each summer. Then we'll practice those skills. That's coming up toward the end of August.

@BLACKIE THOMAS Great video but I have two questions. I have a 10 X 7 poly tarp and it doesn't have center grommets on either side. Does it really matter then if there is no grommets in the center? I know stupid question. My other question is if the one grommet is for the bottom then would it not be better to make it the grommet for the right instead of the bottom?
@BLACKIETHOMAS4 жыл бұрын
they make a grommet kit ..i have added a few to tarps that dint have them in places i wanted them..and they do make the clips as well that can be added and removed as you need
