I mean i write poetry and music but i have never had a song like any of hers where it's so accurately represented and sung so perfectly without intention. I had an emotional breakdown Saturday morning. I broke down crying, started screaming at my bedroom ceiling, and went ahead and got the bus into work anyway. I got there like 30 minutes early and I ended up stood by the side of the road, almost taking that step forward and then changing my mind at the last second for about 10 minutes. Then I saw an ad for Samaritans and I felt my knees start shaking, so I went and sat down and called them (Samaritans) and just broke down again on the phone. I spend almost 30 minutes crying down the phone at this poor old lady, then went to the local office for a face-to-face thing. My manager called me just as I was finishing crying, so I picked up, told her I was having an emotional breakdown and couldn't be in, and she said "Okay, rest, talk to someone, get some help and don't hurt yourself" or something like that, I don't really remember. It was like I wasn't me. I really wanted to die that morning. And now I am crying for absolutely no reason, hence why I'm here. Your music makes me just a tiny bit happier, and that "tiny bit" counts a LOT. I'm so glad you wrote and sang and posted this song. I've literally never related to anything more (also Gold Star, with Carrie Fletcher, is another perfect song). So yeah. Thanks, Dodie. Keep being you, and try and be happy. We (your fans) adore you, ducky.

((Omg, I've heard this song so many times that I already know all the opening/ending monologue.)) Dodie, I don't know if you actually realize how much impact you have on people's lives. . Your songs have followed me for months, helping me through all the shitty problems I may have. I would listen to all of them trying to avoid mental breakdowns, or just to know I wasn't alone with the hopeless feeling. If I was about to cry I would start singing this song as an anthem, Sick of Losing Soulmates or Intertwined because they sound so beautiful (harmonies lkjhffghjkl) and that would comfort me... When I got a crush on a girl "She" would have the right words to express my feelings, and now with Alosia (I Won't be Done, This is for me, 6/10)... I feel as if the songs were written by a friend who knows how I feel and wants to help me into feeling better (that sound so selfish, but God it helps!). Even with the ASMR... I would listen to "take a moment" and cry endlessly, trying to sleep. (Btw "I'm bisexual WOO" it's my life too). What I'm trying to say it's that I'm so grateful of you being yourself and making this amazing content (if that makes any sense), because for the first time in forever, I crave to meet someone so muchhh. I wanna hug you and poorly attempt to pay you back for everything. (Which I know won't happen cuz I live in Argentina, but would REALLY love that). I just realized that this comment has reached someone (yes, three years later) and can't believe it (also had forgotten about it haha). Thank u for the feedback and good wishes 💕✨🌸. I'm so happy to have written this thing cause literally Dodie was the first person to change me with her art and made me stAN her till today, luv her so so much still. I have since come to terms with my sexuality for good (came out to my parents multiple times and had my first dates with girls), gone into treatment and started feeling like an actual human being (and stayed happy for a long time!) and started writing my own music inspired by her and orla's journey. I thought my dream university was the perfect place, and they were super expensive and didn't give me nearly enough money to go. My second choice gave me a full ride, and now I'm going there and I've very happy with it. And as it turned out my dream uni lied to me about a lot of things, and turned out not to be so great after all. And find something worthwhile. Do you admire any talents like music, art, or athletics? Find a way to get involved in something you admire. You may not be the best but at least it's something good that allows u to immerse yourself in a world that you respect. That's how I recommend staying strong. It's working for me rn.

Photography, music ,art.They help usually, I immerse myself in a world that I've created and sometimes it falls apart but that's okay, it always will.I fell in love, it's scary really scary but that's okay cause it was worth it.Happiness is fleeting but that's okay because its worth it.It's worth it, it may not seem like it but its worth it and I think I'm beginning to learn that.Thank you.

heard this for the first time just now and started to comment about how perfectly it encapsulates my daily life, then noticed that all of the other comments are from years past. this room was full and lively once, but everyone's moved on. it's almost fitting, in a way. friends and family make themselves absent when you unmask your depression, so I don't take the mask off much these days--only when the room is empty and there's no one around to see. thanks for the lovely song.
