Only a small portion of Cordele, Georgia was shown, all of Cordele doesn’t look like this. The more historic side of town that’s very interesting, downtown, was missed, 16th Ave, the better looking neighborhoods, our schools even the new ones that were recently built, etc. To the people watching, don’t expect watermelons this time of season. We do have the title of Watermelon Capital of the World so if you wanna see a bunch of watermelons and wanna buy some, go to the Farmers Market in the summer. Plenty of fruits and vegetables there also. We also have a lot of pecan trees and plum bushes. If anyone plans to visit that will be nice. You’ll get to see other parts of Cordele and I’ll consider that you visit downtown first. I’ll say crime rate is 4.5/10. Most crimes and recent ones here are from people coming from different counties and states. I don’t know why they decide to make trouble in Cordele like we don’t have police.😂 It’s a decent community, quiet town most of the time and depending which part you’re at, not too hot in summer or too cold in the winter, etc. I one day may video all of Cordele, Georgia for everyone who’s curious about the south of Georgia. Also if anyone has questions about my hometown I’ll happily answer them!💕

I am a resident of Cordele. This video does not accurately represent the full picture of Cordele. This was a trip through streets of a particular section of Cordele. Every time, it seems, that the driver was headed to the business side of Cordele, he would turn and go back into an older section of town. This video gives a very skewed view of Cordele. Not accidental.

Nice ride through Friend. During this economic hardship, I’d be willing to bet their worries are much less than those in the city. Small towns have a way of surviving because they rely on one another and don’t expect things they’ve never known nor have ever seen. They may aspire to have those things seen but it is not a constant. Think of people that choose to live off the grid, same thought process. No fancy cars, homes, clothing, latest this or that. Just living! Of course they’re affected by the economy like the rest of us but in a different way. Get to know them and you will see❤❤❤

@@steviegenoski9977 How you feel about all the prisons being built in rural Georgia?
@steviegenoski9977
@steviegenoski9977 2 жыл бұрын
@@bunnyman6321 Seems like a good place to put a prison. There's no shortage of criminals to fill them but staffing them might be an issue. Rural and remote areas have always been where prisons are built. Small towns in South Georgia have been losing industry for decades because of workforce limitations. Either there aren't enough people to fill the jobs or the people that are available are too incompetent to employ. Prison guards don't have to be that smart or skilled, they just can't be criminals. Rural South Georgia is a good place to find people like that and can fill those position. Makes sense.
@bunnyman6321
@bunnyman6321 2 жыл бұрын
@@steviegenoski9977 If a place is losing industry then that's the connection on why there are criminals. Prison guards be criminals too; how you think people get all them drugs and cell phones in their? A Prison guard salary isn't enough to feed a family in a inflated market. It won't be enough people if they locking everybody up so they defeating their own purpose. That's a terrible business plan. It makes sense why Prisons are where people aren't that smart.

After retiring from the Postal Service as a Rural Carrier, I enjoyed my well-earned retirement. Four years later I drove a delivery van for a local drug store. Much of the time I drove these same streets in Cordele. I met a lot of good people - some not so good. This is the west side of Cordele. There is an east side too. The west side is mostly black people. The east side was mostly white people, until maybe 10-20 years ago. These conditions in towns across America are partly due to a number of factors. You can blame it on not enough investments by the government in programs and giveaway programs or you can blame it on racism. I prefer to blame this on the lack of correct teaching of morals and principles. Good character brings out the best in people. Good leadership based on integrity and people being taught correct Biblical principles would quickly eliminate so much of the poverty, squalor and horrible decisions made by all ages. Just my thought. Oh yeah, please keep Your trash in your car until you get home.
