This band changed my life circa Feb 1996 rolling around in a 1984 copper ford tempo popped this tape in the cassette deck, and was transported some where magical I can’t explain and still leaves me with a feeling that comes back every time this song comes on. Wore out 3 cassettes of this album before finally getting the CD. Thanks for the tutorial.

Seen Down probably 7-10 times once was a basically private show at The House Of Shock..I live in NOLA so I see Kirk around town here and there...seen Crowbar over 20 times and EHG at least 12-15 times..never got to see Pantera or COC...did get to see Phil in other bands though...scour, arson anthem, saw him sing with Rigor Mortis as a guest to do Cattle Mutilation...

I figured this out in B standard years ago. I know they tune to C sharp on this one but some tracks are definitely in B on that album. Which by the way is sooo freakin good man. Pepper is also one of my favorite guitarists

Also I figured it out by ear, I don’t do tab. It just takes a good ear and a lot of focus and practice. Also one thing peppers riffs have always been slightly easy to connect his notes. It’s almost like I can tell where he is gonna go next. Ever since Deliverance and blind.

6:36 I understand that at the end of the day you probably know more than I do about figuring out songs. However, to my ear, it sounds like on the studio recording, that Pepper is playing more than just one note on one string. If I’m wrong, I would love to know the theory behind it. It bugs me, not knowing when a single note is more appropriate than a chord (especially in a song where at least 2 guitarists are meant to play together) or what interval is best suited to a certain feeling when writing a harmony after 15 years plus of playing. I can _learn_ pretty much anything you put in front of me, but when it comes to _writing_ my own music, I just cannot produce this kind of thing. I fear it is because as I learned, I relied too much on tablature. I didn’t bother training my ear to learn things… you know, by ear?

Nothing like NOLA sludge. So heavy, but so bluesy. Can we get a Grief lesson? Apparently nobody's tabbed out Rhinoceros from Dismal and the one blurry live video of Come to Grief playing it can only get you so far. The compilation version of Dismal is one of my favorite Sludge records. Admiral Angry would be cool too, but there's no reasonable setup for the average person to tune like them (A0D1A1D2G2G3E3 on custom 7 strings made out of bass guitars for the 34" scale length) and they existed in a kinda strange Metalcore-y place that a lot of trad doomers probably wouldn't get behind.

Orange OR120 OD Amp. I think setting 4 on the FAC, TMB all around noon, gain between noon and 3 o’clock, MV around 3 o’clock. That’s my recollection.
