Another fine mess you've gotten us into OB, "Olly" I love it when the drinks flow and the Denobiles stay alight. Some real nice Items fellas, the stick pin collection is awesome, thanks to willy what a savvy collector he was, I had to go back to the start to verify that he had passed...R.I.P. good sir.

@Wittman - that plate @ 16:53 depicts the "Storming of Liege" that happened on August 7th 1914. And that's not a steel forge, it's a destroyed bunker with a solider standing atop it. What is unique and important about this battle is that it was the VERY FIRST opening battle of WW1 where Germany invaded Belgium and convinced the garrison there to surrender. However, the surrounding forts decided to fight, and this ended up costing the Germans many casualties. The German's then sent in heavy siege guns by rail and eventually destroyed these forts. Many of us are familiar with the term "Big Berthas" this term was coined in WW1. These were extremely heavy but mobile guns that weighted around 1,800lbs and could shoot a projectile up to 6 miles away. That is actually a really cool plate and fairly rare. If you can get a fair price on it, you should add it to your collection, if, that's something you collect.

The pllate wiith blue' picture says , Erstürmung der Festung Lüttich' - ,Taking the Fortress of Liege'. I think the picture shows q Steelmade armoured gun cuppola, integrated into a concrete fortification Work after being bombarded by heavy siege artillry.

Could the No. 20 stamp on the Forestry piece signify the Weimar Period? I believe they used in on reconditioned bayonets from the Imperial Era for use during the Republic. Just a thought…..

It is an assumingly civilian piece, such Hirschfänger had been carried by german/austrian hunters up to 1930s. Today they are no more carried when hunting, but sometimes as dressweapon during hunters ceremonies.
