It is also nice that we viewers get to see and take part in so many beautiful historical things. Of course, there are very dark stories that touch all these symbols and weapons. But, one cannot deny that world history is fascinating! Greetings from the south coast of Finland, 0 c the first snowflakes fell today... I wish you a good continuation of the week! 😀🥂👍

You really have to admire the honesty when it comes to him evaluating that Panzer bayonet. This is how he’s build a name from self not through cheating or lying many many years of consecutive honest work

The daggers and hj knives are fantastic . The panzer bayonet is a fantasy piece. The US sword should be in a museum. German cross is nice. Thanks for posting. I really enjoyed it

Hi Tom, Enjoying the video as always. Re: the US sword.. I believe that the inscription is: Presented to Capt. Geo. A. Miller by the members of Co A, 22nd Regt., NGSNY, March 1882. I believe that could stand for National Guard State of New York. 😉

Be careful Mr. Wittmann my gf and I think that something was fishy about the dust in the case almost like someone was trying to add age or wear and tear to the dagger like if it was repainted and trying to make it look older than it really is or was? Idk just thought I would let you know our thoughts because we love you and don't want to see anyone get over on you!! Maybe wrong but wanted to make sure! Take care we are always waiting for your next vids you are funny and really fun to watch we just love what you do so thanks and God Bless!!

Was that a De Nobli He lit up? My Grandfather was a real old time Italian who at a young age about 18 years fought at the Battle of Adwa before learning His trade as a machinist and blacksmith and immigrating to the US He smoked Italian ceroots or Toscognelli’s . I liked them too and all the similar ones by the Avanti Cigar Co. the Ramrods were real good . They were rum soaked. My Ex Wifes Dad was in the 95th infantry Division . He had more than many of those Hitler Youth Daggers and all kinds of loot and stories. A few drillings too. My Dads older Bother was a combat engineer in the 289th Regiment 75th infantry Division and another Uncle / Brother in Law was a machine Gunner 168th Regiment 34th infantry Div. Another Uncle Ernie Magri was a mechanic and Motorcycle courier in the 14th Armored they always said that they had little time for souvenir’s and they already had more than enough equipment and ammunition to pack around. After being trucked to forward areas of combat and leaving the trucks , the orders were often given to drop packs with personal belongings and non combat items. Before moving up to the actual fighting. Thats when the truck drivers would go through the packs. My Dads Brother said a older woman offered a bandana full of jewelry to Him if they did not use Her home as Her Husband was sick. They had to search the Home for enemies and weapons before leaving them be . He declined the offer of the Jewelry. He said other there were other guys who would have taken them. My Uncle who Fought in Italy said they liked the German Army utensils. Prisoners were searched and the dead were not always recent departures. One time Canteens were filled and thirsts quenched before discovering putrefying enemy dead upstream. My Uncle kept a Luger Pistol He took from a German officer He killed in a town Casserta I think it was. The belongings of the dead were a source of heated disagreements as there were those who felt it immoral to take their things like watch’s and jewelry that may have been gifts from loved ones or hold some other sentimental Valuer. You look like My Ex Wifes Grandfather who grew up in Germany and immigrated here before the WW1 . He built periscopes for US submarines

Just a leather tip. Collectors please get a bottle of Lexol deep leather conditioner to preserve and maintain your leather items. It’s sold at most autozones or advance auto parts stores for care of leather car seats and of course it’s sold online. There is really no smell, if you want leather smell try Griots. But both of these are liquid spray so they’re pretty thin. You can use latex gloves although not needed but gently squirt a drop on your index finger and work it into the face (smooth side) of the leather. It will probably absorb it all without having to wipe excess. It will darken the suede side (back/rough side) or edges of the leather if it comes in contact which isn’t bad I’d think 🤷🏻♂️. Not sure if this is a faux pas in the collecting realm but I hate seeing the leather on these items just dilapidate away from lack of moisture. It is skin and like your own or on a leather jacket or gloves needs moisture or will crack or break. The leather on these should last a very long time with some basic care and attention and should be preserved like you would the blade steel on a dagger or sword. I hope this is ok to post Wittmann Militaria. Also I hope the family is doing better. 🙏🏼 thank you for these videos I love seeing this cool history.

The majority of collectors believe, at least for helmet liners, is to leave the leather alone. All the preserving in the world will only screw things up.

The Wittmann strikes again, cigars, dust and a stiff drink, always well dressed and entertaining for all of us to enjoy. As we Europeans are trying to heat up our houses because heating oil costs a rare dagger price a month we find refuge in his kind words for collectors !! However, we would like a shout out to all European viewers the next time, we are after all true fans ! Greetz from the other side of the Big Blue !!

German here. Be carefull with such knifes! Up to 2000 you could see such knifes in the ,show windows' of german cutlery, knifes and weapon shops. For decades they had been sold as ,Fahrtenmesser' ( journey knifes) or ,Pfadfindermesser' ( boy scout knifes). Be carefull, don' t buy after war replicas/ running Produktion!
