Aww, thank you Mimi! It is (still) very exciting to have passed! It was very hard to not get too excited at the drivers office, they say no smiles on the drivers license photo but I am pretty darn sure I am as close to a smirk/smile as you can get in that photo, even the staff members were laughing :)

@@naujsgirl i remember getting mine about 40 odd years ago now, i had to learn on a standard and glad i did. Had to take my test on a standard and passed on the first try. The instructor said i should go into truck driving as my double clucking was so right on along with my gear shifting. He told me that would ever had taught me did well. I smiled ...

Juan, 2 questions: 1.Have you ever gone up (like in a car) a Runaway Road? 2. Would it really stop a truck and load on those things and why? If you feel inclined to the reply this time.
@JuanRempel
@JuanRempel 4 ай бұрын
No to the car, yes to the truck. A lot of runaway lanes are soft gravel and a car would get stuck. Yes, they stop trucks, just last week a truck used one on the connector. Why, well for different reasons. Some, like I said are soft gravel and will get the truck very stuck, some are steep uphill, some are just cables with springs, and as you collected the more and more cables you stop. Each will destroy the truck. Soft gravel will rip the axles clean off the truck, up hill, one must come back down, backwards with no breaks, that truck will jacknife. And wrapping cables around your truck will mangle everything pretty good too.

"Hyway thru Hell" what a load of bullshit...I trucked over that road from the day it opened till 2014...as many as 5 round trips a week at times. It would be more appropriate to call it "People from Hell". The road actually get more troublesome after they removed the tolls and the big increase in Nimrods made things worse. There that's my 2 cents worth from a guy that spent 46 years in that business.
