These predate the existing lava field as they are below it. There are also trees that did not entirely burn up so there are half burned trees inside these caves that are probably 10,000 years old. It's a very bizarre situation.

I really appreciate you guys and your videos. Grew up in Cowlitz, Lewis, Pierce, and Thurston Counties. Spent many days and nights camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting around Mt St. Helens before the eruption, and after..... (often entering forbidden red zone when I wasn't supposed to.) 🤫 Lived in Toutle and wandered those forests fearlessly as a child with my slingshot and spear. 😅 Stupidly rode my bmx the day of the explosion as if the ash was snow. 🙄 📦 🪨 Many memories with my father in that area, including Ape Caves, Spirit Lake, listening to my dad talk with Harry while I skipped rocks, and Silver Lake. i still remember the old boat rental dock on Silver Lake and we'd get in the boat and it would drop us into the water. Sisters and mom would gasp and get scared. 😂 Good times swimming, fishing, and rafting the toutle river, cowlitz river, kalama river, Coweeman river, and even one time accidentally into the Columbia river after starting in the coweeman river in a 2 man blow up raft at age 11. 😂 Im in SE asia now and haven't been to that area since 2018. Hopefully next summer I can bring my daughter there to experience the beautiful PNW for her first trip abroad. I want to thank you for bringing back feelings I longed for. It makes me feel positive and it motivates me. It reminds me of my roots. When I see your videos I can smell those trees and the moss. ❤️ A break from the pollution, garbage, sewage smells here. 😅 You inspire me and give me hope in ways I can't put into words. THANK YOU 🙏🏼

There's a friend in our group here that often visits southeast asia. I believe he does caving over there. One of the interesting things about the recent eruption is that we lost quite a few caves! Since it wasn't lava flow, it filled many of the known caves with sand. It's certainly a wonderful area to wander around.

He will be turning 18 shortly so he's certainly not the child he once was. For me, it does seem like yesterday when he was just a kid hanging out with me caving. But for him it was probably a lifetime ago.

Does it ever get hard to breathe down in the caves?
@EvenDarker
@EvenDarker 6 ай бұрын
Yes but not for the reasons that you think probably. It's hard to breathe the air because it's freezing. That bothers some people. Although in the winter if it's super cold outside it can be warmer in the cave. The transition will give you a sore throat. But the oxygen is the same as the outside I've never figured out why it wouldn't be.

8:40 Is there an explanation why these caves are always human sized ? :D Or is it just me thinking that
@EvenDarker
@EvenDarker 6 ай бұрын
It's a little bit self answering. The ones that aren't human sized we don't fit in. And the big ones nobody's interested in as far as our videos are concerned. But I do think there's some relation between the basic size of a human and the way cave structures form. I don't even know if it would be possible to sort out the why but there does seem to be some kind of natural or unnatural connection.

Do you ever, or is it possible, to run into precious stones in the lava type caves? I've seen in some treasures hunting videos that places where lava has broke through to the surface, that they can create situations where diamonds are physically everywhere because of the pressures pushing them right up to the surface etc. There's probably a whole explanation that I'm not understanding but wanted to see if you were aware of this type of thing? In the videos explaining this, if you find one of these lava diamond things, you'll find so many diamonds it'll be ridiculous.
@EvenDarker
@EvenDarker 6 ай бұрын
The most precious things we find are Native American artifacts. Gems would depend on where in the world the caves are. I have found treasure before but would not ever show that video publically. And it's my opinion that most people who find something of actual value are not going to show it publicly. I make some assumption that a lot of what I see on KZbin is tremendously sensationalized.

@@EvenDarker Have you found artifacts in the caves where you're in the types of caves where you're flat on your stomach going through them tubes? Were people in those caves back then? It must be a rush to be holding something that the last time a person held that, it was that far back in time, & was likely the NA person themselves.
