Youre been huge inspiration in my life Keith. Youre pretty much the reason i got the courage to get into recording. Arrival had huge influence on me and the way i continue to write music to this day. So i just wanted to thank you for everything youve contributed to the metal world. Congrats on your mad success, you deserve it.

@@buddhafex not exactly. Each one has a different relationship with weed
@buddhafex4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. But usually, with most people I know and myself, when I get stoned and start just riffing some of my best riffs come from that. And the weed, for me, loosens the A.D.D. and allows me to focus easier and music flows out of me. It allows you to be in your own world and nothing is happening except the music.

You always pick the best albums of death metal bands. First Summoning Redemption off Gateways to Annihilation by Morbid Angel, and now with Decapitated. The Negation is by far my favorite album of theirs. Amazing from start to finish.

Hey Keith, Love the vids, Can you give us a list of your top 5 death metal bands?
@mechanizationmetal4 жыл бұрын
YES to building albums in one session (Cubase for us). And wow does it crush the PC running that many tracks in a single project! Thanks for the comparison between mic'd cab vs profiles/plugins. Digital has come a long way, but you're right with the heavy mutes. Nothing sounds as good as a live 5150. Your content is on point, man. The format of this episode is perfect. Please keep it up!

I work on a single timeline until it lags my computer and by then I'm sick of the tones and basic mix of the whole thing and I take what I've learned and move to a new one. Once there I re-imagine what I'm doing and where I want to go from there and the process starts all over again. It gives each group of songs a specific mood and keeps me from always trying to achieve the same sound session to session. Mind you I'm a complete amateur but it works for me better than other approaches because it makes me make decisions and finalize things. Lovin' this return of recent, keep it up Man and thanks. :)

Not preachy, or unnecessarily complex just down to earth guitar talk. Keep it up my friend! What is your process for blending the bass and distorted guitars in your tracks?
@cmd_f54 жыл бұрын
Just dropping into say that I'm a huge fan of your tones and riffing. One of the first videos I ever watched from you was the Rhodes Colossus amp, using the Randall iso cab. The tone in that vid got me super psyched about finding my own sound and working on my clarity when playing. It's awesome to see that you're still using iso cabs these days. also, it goes to show that we don't always need a hundred little EQ notches to get a great tone. Of course EQ can be very helpful, but it's not always needed in vast quantities. Peace and keep doing great things :)

When Mad Max times come around, my vote is for Keith being elected as the guitar guy chained to the car roof jamming on the flamethrower guitar. If I knew video editing I'd redo that scene with his music in it. Be BAD. ASS!

I feel like you’re the guy to ask this question to since you have a good knowledge on gear as well as computers. If you had to put together a “budget” setup for a bedroom guitarist that is new to plugins that would include a laptop, interface & whatever else is needed what would you choose? Love the content & hope you’re staying safe during all the madness out there!
