I watched an episode of "Homicide Life On the Street" and this song played right before the closing credits. I fell in love with it and her voice. What a show. Whoever chose the music put on some great songs. Another closer was "I'll Stand By You" by the Pretenders. Powerful episode. Powerful!!!!

Back in 1979 I was a GI in Germany and had the good fortune to see her on Rock Palast which was simulcast on TV and FM radio. Until then I had heard her name. Then I was impressed with her live performance! That same night I also saw Patti Smith, Ian Hunter, ZZ Top, Mitch Ryder and others I forgot! Glad Joan left an impression in my 19 year old mind!

Rare moments where audio & video (perfect clarity, didn't use a potato camera), VOICE, lyrics MELODY & the talent of the rest of the musicians is the DOPEST 9.5 magnitude ever in the DOPE Richter scale. A better arrangement of music & combination of ppl is hard 2 find.

Yeah this is what's great about singers like Joan -real from the heart stuff- no wonder Paul Whitehouse has I for the theme to his new sitcomb about people. Also Pauline black is another great - its different music but its all about the feeling

She should be at or near the top of great female vocalists - maybe not the largest repertoire, but a few of her songs are very moving.
