Had a blast making this video and thought I'd share the results. I'm sure most of you know about this sort of thing but I've never really tried it on anything besides vocals. Please note using ReaPitch whilst tracking introduces a lot of latency so leave it until you're mixing.

totally useless plugin, it only exists in reaper...reaper is a bedroom wanna be producer DAW for PC geeks who dedicate their whole life impressing each other ever changing GUI of the same old programs.., they remain in the vegetative state since the late 90s and will eventually awake in a state where they finally taste Apple Macs.

Good video, thanks :) This is what I do frequently to my tracks as well. For those who struggle with chords being messed up by this kind of detuning, try switching to Elastique 3 Pro stretching method instead of “Project Default” and set Mode to Preserve Formants (Most Pitches). If you want to get more or less decent bass tone from your guitar, try tuning 12 semitones down and select Preserve Formants (low pitches), this will save the character of playing without it getting too weak.

I've done it a couple of times, and it works pretty well, just a shame i can't record it pitched down cuz of the latency. Quick tip, when you start to go bonkers with the pitch down it starts to lose some upper harmonics the lower you go, turning up the Formant shift brings some of these harmonics back. Just don't overdo it or it'll start to sound digitalized.

Is there a way to fix the delay?? So then I can like, just jam to it without recording. Cuz I experienced latency too while playing

Use Elastique Pro 3, and set your interface to a low latency setting, if it can handle it well. Might need a good low latency interface and your computer may have issues as well. Drivers and such are a concern, too. I was able to play pretty much live with this pitch shifting down by 3 and 6 semitones

I used this thing since 2012 to go like 2 or 5 semitones lower from standard tuning, and it was always a huge loss of tone, and I`m not even the tone purist that much. It`s fun anyway to hear how it may sound transposed and ok for demos. I also tried most of hardware pitch shifters available in that time and they weren`t any better, so I just bought a 7 string and that`s it. I think pitch shifting from 7 string 8 string is less notticeable and kinda passible unlike going lower from standard tuning. I only use it for creative purposes nowadays.

Using this trick since years for my bass tones in all my demos. Try checking out playing with the algorithm and parameters. elastique pro 3.30 and preserving lower and lowest formants give a nice crackle dangle bum bum to the "bass". ;-)

It doesn't. There's probably over a half second of delay between the note being played and it being registered after. Not to mention it sounds terrible when you try playing chords. This pretty much only works after the fact.

I haven't used this plugin myself yet, but my bro has and he says it's working really for him. Latency isn't so much that it's noticeable that it gets in the way of playing accurately, so I think it'll work fine for recording.
