Thanks for the great demo and advise! Much appreciated and looking forward to following you into this tech for light wind. Reminds me a bit of transitioning from windsurfing to kite in early days thinking we would only go to this in light conditions……so I’d only want a 17M!

After watching your clip I searched for a Naish 2140 foil. Got to use it today, ice finally off the lakes. 8-15 mph winds😄

This is really random, we met early November at the Hole in Hatteras and you were the only one out then as well! lol I'm looking to get a DW board for light wind winging and your video came up in my feed! Great video, you are killing it on that board. After I got back from Hatteras I bought a 6m wing and have been loving it. My buddy (who was with me at the hole) and I went the other in 8-10kn. It was a struggle getting on foil but once up the 6m was amazing. Thats the lightest I've been in and it was real challenging to jibe. Gonna start practicing race jibes as you suggested!

Race jibes are the ticket since you don’t get back winded or have to hold the wing up in light wind.

Been spoiled the last 3 months. The largest wing I’ve used is my 4m.

LOL great review! I've been the only one out a lot at the hole (Hatteras) so I know how you feel. Not too bad! If these boards get popular enough I'll have to add board aspect ratio to my "L" formula! 😀

I went 8’x21” with a 5.0 Naish matador. It’s a new world.

Yes it is. And, I think it’s only the beginning.

considering your 68Kg, why you did not consider the 96L ? that's much shorter and better for general agility... don't you feel the " canoa effect" on the 107L for turning?
@lakechamplainkitenwing5 ай бұрын
I went longer and with more liters because I bought it primarily for down winding, not winging. I'm glad I did not go smaller because it's hard enough as it is for me to stay balanced in the bumps. Also, the bumps where I live are not ideal for DW'ing and the extra length really helps. I do not feel any delay effect in turning it while winging. I'm very impressed with the way it reacts. 🙂

Are you selling your 107L? I am interested
@lakechamplainkitenwing5 ай бұрын
@@Giovanni.secret Nope. :)

I also have the 107 and love it. Use it mostly for winging. I am 75Kg. The narrow width and for forward foil box make the board feel small and very agile.

Oh yeah, do you think you could have used a smaller wing? Maybe a 6? My friend Bill W has a downwind board and he says it makes his 6 go in 5 knots or so...

I think so.

Judging by trees , seems enough wind for good kitefoil session… why not go kitefoil instead when wind is light?
@lakechamplainkitenwing5 ай бұрын
That's certainly an option.

Nice video, but dude, you need to change most of your thumbnails.

Yea. This stuff is still so new, who knows where it’ll progress to.
