Downcountry Hardtail Does Badak Bike Park! | Mountain Biking Batam, Indonesia

Badak Bike Park - the current hot-ticket mountain bike destination on Batam Island Indonesia - has been spruced up with permanent shelters, wider shuttle turn-arounds, washing bays... and of course, new trail features! With that in mind - and in cooperation with Simply DAB, Janjiride, and Geckowerkz - we took co-lead of a massive visiting group of riders from Singapore to check them all out over the weekend.
To make our work day out guiding more interesting, we brought out the Yeti ARC to play... and to attempt every single feature the bike park had to offer. With suspension travel at exactly 0mm in the rear and only 120mm up front, and facing bone-dry and loose conditions over the previous two weeks, things were sure to get spicy... spicy as the sambal ijo chilli sauce that is characteristic of this Indonesian island region and its people.
Raw Epics is committed to bring riding at Badak to everyone, whether for independent daytrips and overnighters; or for special events such as this where we partner with like-minded organisers and MTB community leaders to embark on guiding, skills instruction, and event planning/consultation projects.
Our collective deep gratitude goes out to Hercules and the staff of Badak Bike Park Management for the access and support for this weekend of fun for the riders on this huge 'Resolution Ride' to usher in the new year.

Wilson, we, esp my 14yo son enjoyed the rides and the guidance given by you for all the stages, really elevated my son’s confidence. Only regret that my son mentioned was that, he didn’t manage to complete the SS7 at the steep rock slope. But he did complete it with the gap. We definitely, looking forward to ride with you again at Badak👍🏼
