I just cannot get over Laura as The Matron. Perfect choice from a meta storytelling perspective but also god she's SO damn good in this role

Oof. Taliesin with the punch to the feels! “Why do the ones who break understand?” Oof. That one hit me harder than I thought. My answer I guess would be that the broken ones understand what it’s like to be whole, to have their love, to have nothing. So they want to protect whatever they can from breaking like them. No one wants to choose to be broken, or to break others, but sometimes that’s what needs to happen. I understand wanting to fix something broken so it can be whole again but some things are too broken to ever be made whole again no matter how many times you try. Unfortunately speaking from experience. A lot of experience, past and present. Being broken isn’t a weakness, isn’t a strength, but can be turned into a strength. I’ve no idea how and I’ve been broken for 30+ years. I really appreciate Taliesin as a person, a character, his representation and voice for chronic pain, chronic illness suffers, I’d really like to meet him one day.

Well I don't think anyone was quite prepared for the Ars Elysia. Slitch is the true winner here though, not that anyone would believe him if he told anyone where he was, hope he survives to serve the Matron well. Abubakar definitely shined this ep too as SILAHA aka the 'Chosen One', sassing with Umleta, and his discussion with Emhira. You can see the thought of the Divine Gate take shape here too, not just in Erathis and Asha mentioning about hurting the world but how the other gods are getting a front row seat of how their family disagreement is truly a Calamity for the world, their creations won't simply accept the 'we are the parent, you're the child, do as we say' shtick anymore, they've been around long enough to not want to be coddled. It shouldn't be a surprise that religion still thrives in oppression, but the reveal that the Factorum was modified to aim at the Betrayers was definitely a great twist, but again it shows the effect the Calamity has had on people, they want the war to be over and they're valid in that regard, but they're putting a gun in a god's hand and telling them to shoot their sibling, which they cannot do. Just one more ep to go though, I'm still curious about the Stasis bubbles, feel like if the Primes simply dropped the city to save the Betrayers then there wouldn't have been another century of Calamity, the act of trying to save some people though would probably slight the Betrayers enough for them to keep going? SILAHA's class is definitely time-based, the Emissary has something deep within them still, and I hope for Trist's sake she's still able to help people. Still not sold though Ludie, not that I'm expecting to be sold but still not quite seeing it yet, even the Hells have inferred that they'd prioritize each other over the rest of the world.

NOSHIR IS LEFT HANDED TOO! Same as Laura! YES! Left handers unite! I have barely seen any left handers on other shows I’ve watched! Truly is a rare thing in this world!
