The bridge she was hung from was the bridge over the forks. I grew up there.

So in 1984 (?) My best friend ( from Medford, Oregon ) ran the Riverside Inn (?) motel & my first husband & I moved there, so that my best friend could teach me the motel business. I was 18 when I moved there. Just across the bridge & to the right was a " smell good Bakery" a few buildings down was a little corner market. My husband & I made # 98 & 99 in the population status. There was a tiny gas station & it was owned by Frank (?) & Barbara. Barbara was a retired school teacher. She was always teaching kids how to play piano. I got 3 paying jobs there. I worked for food + room & board while learning the motel business, then I went to Frank & Barbara's house to mow the lawn with a old old old lawn mower & clean house. Barbara paid me & would teach me piano ( we moved back to Oregon before I learned to much) then across from Barbra's house, I cleaned house for Bill & LaQuira

Hello, that wasn't the bridge she was hung from, the correct bridge is the one that leads to the COURT HOUSE, that is the next bridge down. Yes, all of the bridges have been replaced many times due to floods that take out the bridges. Nice tour, I enjoyed it very much.

The town look very quaint and cool. Interesting stories about the 2 hangings. I know you're not a full time KZbinr and you have a regular job that takes up a lot of your time but man I wish you were able to put more videos. This was really nice!

I've never had this much motivation to head out west as I do now. The farthest I've ever gone out west was to Colorado back in 07' when I was 17, and I loved it. But, for some reason, I just lost the will to save up the money and make the plans to go back.. But then I started watching your vids, and not only do I want to go back to Colorado, but I want to go even further.. I am determined to visit Nevada and California in the next year or so, all thinks to your vids..

Hi Im trying to find a mine near downieville that me and my father worked in in the 80s I wondered if its still there we drove to through Downieville past petrol station on right, then took a left road to the right backside of the buttes to get to it approx 20 30 min in truck from Downieville, It had a portal on its left side with large engines in it it went in quite far in with a couple of tunnels further in, it was on the flat and a track right through we used a large metal cart which was manned for waste to a tipping point some distance from mine across the road we used for access to the mine, at end of the track a sheer drop and stopper for cart, we blew some holes in there and found a room of crystals that glowed under uv which got removed at the time, but no gold, we stayed with a guy called black jack Nixon and Mika and Diane Craig, We had a mining crew called the anglo Alabama mining company made up name by the crew, with a local trez bama Alabama Dom Hudson medland Reynolds Andy wiles and myself I was 12 years old. Any help would be appreciated. unfortunately the crew can't remember the name of the mine, but racer and rainbow mines have been mentioned.

Hi Nick, Sounds like a great adventure. I love the area and the buttes. I don't know the mines in the area outside of the Kentucky Mine...which is now a museum...call them- I'd bet they could help...also go over google maps and do a satellite view..you might spot something!
