Solo BackPack & Kayaking High SIERRA Lake/ Huge Breakfast/ SUNRISE Photography!

Hi Campers,
This week I take my Tamarack 100 kayak and my Osprey Atmos 65 and go into the Sierra Nevada's Tahoe National forest of northern California. I kayak across lower Sardine Lake and then backpack up a ridge to upper Sardine lake and make a camp at the base of the beautiful Sierra Buttes! I cook dinner and a make a huge breakfast and do some early morning landscape photography with the amazing light on the Sierra Buttes!!

This video of BackPacking and Kayaking High Sierra Lake brings back so many memories. Back in the 1960s I was honored to white water canoe with my Uncle and Aunt and their dog down the Allagash Wilderness Waterway in Maine. Was awakened mid night to the sound of what I thought was a moose walking through our camp. I knew my uncle was out of the tent on a "relief visit" so asked as he entered back inside, "Was that a bull moose I just heard out there?" He replied: "THAT was a BUNNY RABBIT....sound sure does play tricks on a waterway. Love your photos and thanks for sharing with us.

Damn!!! You nailed it. So glad I happened upon your channel. I'm hooked!!! I went from your chair review to your new cook set to this kayak - backpack video. I bought kayaks in late 2018 because my Bride was leaning towards Stand up Paddle Boards. We took the kayaks out around 22 times in 2019. Almost died in Tahoe 5/2019. The Lake has a mind of it's own. Then she bought a Jeep in late 2019...Dirt and rocks took over and the boats stayed home. In 2020 we spent most of our time in the forest wheeling, shooting and cooking. With the questionable times ahead I've been watching more Bush craft videos...just in case. Ordered some backpacks, looking for video's to supply them. It's been almost 50 years since I've done any pack packing. Then you popped up!!! Thank you so much for your video's. They don't just happen. It's a ton of work. Sardine Lake is first on the list for 2021 when it gets warmer.

Love the Sierra Buttes so much! Downsville and Sierra City are soooo cute and friendly. The North Fork of the Yuba River is a great fly fishing destination and excellent mountain biking! The hike to the fire lookout on top of the Buttes is really really awesome too! Auburn is my hometown so it's been a go to spot for a lot years for my friends and family. Keep hiking and tight lines!!!!

Really enjoyed this adventure! It’s always a great when one of your videos pops up. I often reach for my pocket rocket 2 and get a coffee going while watching. I bought my pocket rocket because of your videos and don’t regret it. I live on a small boat. It does have a little gas cooker but I find my pocket rocket fits best for when I want a quick coffee.
