Very important to uninstall not only Microsoft Office (if there's a version already installed on your computer) but also Microsoft OneNote. I didn't know that and a Microsoft pop-up window appeared, just as Office was about to get installed, saying that first I had to uninstall Microsoft OneNote. So, I had to go through the Prompt Command process all over again. And if your Windows version is in a different language than English, 'Configuration.xml' will be saved in the language of your version of Windows without you noticing it. That's another problem I had as my laptop is Spanish, so 'Configuration.xml' was saved as 'Configuración.xml'. Now Office is finally installed on my laptop! Hurray! Let's see how long I can use it for before it asks for an activation key. Thanks for this usefull tutorial video Professor!

It works! If you get the error message "couldn't install the configuration files wasn't specified, go online for additional help. Error code: 0-2054 (0)" or something like that, remember to write down the .xml archive as it was saved. FOr example, if it's in spanish, you will probably be writing "Configuracion.xml"

I got the error code and clicked the link in the small window. It took me to the Microsoft website and is instructing me to "reinstall Office." after a pc reboot! After following the websites instructions I attempted to follow these instructions again and the same small window popped up with the same error code!

I have created a folder named "MS Office Setup" in Windows Explorer and I'm still encountering the "The system cannot find the specified path" error when using the cd command in the Command Prompt.

Hi, I had the same problem you have. Since I use a German OS the file was saved under the German name, you just have to make sure that the file name you put into the execute command, matches the one you downloaded! Hope this helps!

I should point out that after a while it IS going to ask you for a product key, usually in about 3 months that happens. And do note that this is piracy since you are not paying for perpetual software. But anyways, great tutorial! EDIT: Microsoft lets you use this for a while, but once you get the activation prompt, you can't use it. If you use an office activation script/program like kmspico (probably malware) to bypass the prompt, then it's illegal.
