Dustin is the singer for/mastermind behind Starset now and they'll be in Portland on February 26th. I'll be there. 😎🤘 Wish I'd gotten the chance to see Downplay live and buy some of their merch though.

Their record label won't let them release new stuff, which is why they haven't made anything new and Dustin and Ron went to Starset. I'm hoping that they get signed by another label like Fearless, which is the one Starset is signed by, so they can make new material.

@@Brandon2940 One that says ‘It’s my way or the highway’ when the band doesn’t agree with their way but is locked into a contract. That said, I’m not sure that it’s an issue of their label not letting them release new music. I read Dustin say in an interview that Downplay’s record deal fell through when the label made a deal to sign X Factor contestants if I remember right. I’m under the impression that their label dropped them, but I could be wrong and they’re still under some sort of contract but that particular album deal just went south. Dustin kind of fell off the rails and was in a really down place for a bit after that, but it was during that time that the ideas that became Starset and its narrative came to him.

@@BriannaBanana1 The record they were signed to wanted to make it only Rap/Hip-Hop and some else, can't remember. So Dustin ended up taking some Downplay Songs and releasing them with Starset. Downplay and Starset existed at the same time playing shows together. They both were also supposed to release an album in 2014 but only starset did.

I freaken love Downplay, fuck starset(sort of because of vessels but mainly because of that abomination divisions). Dustin should just return to return to downplay and make more rock and roll songs(like hated you from hello, the one who laughs last, where did you go, goodbye) or atleast another transmissions album since that was the only good album starset has ever made.
