My other go to salad is Romain, Pear, Beet and Goat Cheese. I add lots of toasted walnuts and top it with a simple balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Yummy!

I made this for my family tonight. I doubled the vinaigrette and used the extra to marinate chicken tenders. It was flavorful, a huge hit and all of us want it again. Thank you for a simple and quick recipe.

As a Greek, I would say you are totally right we don't use dressing just really good quality Greek Olive oil and maybe a splash of red wine vinegar Olives are always kept whole 😁 As another user said You could smash them (or use a small knife to cut around the pit) right before you need to if you're serving Little ones. For any bread eaters the best part After eating the salad is the dressing that's left at the bottom of the bowl!

the zoumi is the best part! I just add way more oregano in mine. And I spit those olive pit outs, that's the true Greek way!

i make the turkish version of this salad very often and it is also soo good! if you cut the ingredients into very very small pieces (tomato, cucumber and onion- no need bell pepper and cheese) and add just some walnuts, olive oil lemon, pomegranate syrup. Viola! Yummy

We keep the olives whole, sometimes with the pit and it’s always Kalamata olives.I love the way you pronounced "Horiatiki".👏🏻☺️

Yum! Greek salad is my absolute favourite. When lettuces prices went up, I started making it like this to cut costs and I really love the chunky texture too! Great video 😊

I love love love Greek salad and eat it almost every evening. My twist is to add also capers to the salad. And: I prefer to always use whole Kalamata olives with the pits. They taste so much better than the pitted ones.

Thank you Lisa! Greek salad is a fantastic healthy fresh dish that I never order because I can’t stand olives. Maybe it won’t be authentic, but I’m very happy to have this great recipe so I can make my own without olives.

You are eating the wrong Olives. The ones in the cans are never ripe, hard and no taste. Find an Italian market and get just a few Black, Gaeta, Kalamata and Green (oil-cured, too). It's a world of different. try it. Canned olives are trash. I love olives but can't eat that stuff.

I made a variation of this for lunch the other day for me & my husband. I had gotten the recipe from a show on PBS all about tomatoes but it didn't have garlic. I wondered if adding it would take away from the authenticity. I'm adding it now! This would be an absolute hit at summertime barbecues.

I’m so glad you said that about how it would be easier to quarter the cucumber lengthwise and then cut across. Was sitting here thinking, “why, why are you doing it that way…”

Also it’s supposed to be served with a lemon wedge that can be squeezed with the fork :)) extra salt and olive oil. And you drink the juice up after. For a sweeter taste you can use sweet onions or yellow onions… it’s very good also with halloumi cheese or canned tuna but traditionally avocados wouldn’t go but it’s a nice twist. They don’t typically have avocados over there

Perfect greek salad! If you can find Gaeta Olives ( generally an Italian market) they are a great cross between ripe black olives and good Kalamata, work really well in things like Puttanesca. Love your channel!

Yes! I only used about a quarter of the dressing this time around. But you can add half of it for an extra coating 😊
