I’m Irish and agree.. cost of living has gone crazy, very expensive and a few other things yet I never will leave haha.. I love the people, the atmosphere and how the place looks. It’s such a peaceful country and when I have gone elsewhere I can see that most places have pros and cons. Good video 🍀

I was prepared to be offended, but far from it. Everything you say is true and fair. Dublin is crucifyingly expensive. I feel so sorry for anyone starting out and trying to find accommodation in this country. I don't think your high insurance is necessarily down to the fact you are from another country, Ria, but down to your age. Back in 2001 my first car was 300 euro and my insurance was 1,200, 4 times the value of the car. This is beacuse I was young, and inexperienced. I love your bubbly personality and the way you say certain words with a Dublin accent.

The Irish weather is ranked position 120 our of 190: OK during the summer but generally mild, rainy and dull for the rest of the year. Dubai is ranked 99 which suffers from dreadfully hot summers which causes some to temporarily move elsewhere but great winters.

High cost of living? Yes. High standard of living? Yes. Good quality of life? Yes. We are at the mercy of international events in terms of food price and energy inflation. The main issue which we can solve is the housing crisis. However, that was more than thirty years in the making, so it won't be solved overnight. Energy independence will occur in the next ten to fifteen years, as the entire east coast becomes a continuous wind farm from Dundalk Bay to Rosslare, and the massive floating windfarms off the south and west coasts come online. Energy prices should come down substantially in the next decade..

A lot of landlords in Ireland wont advertise online because they are renting their places off the books to avoid paying taxes etc. You will find places sometimes in the smaller cities and towns that wont be advertised openly, not sure about this working in Dublin or Cork but you can ask in estate agents in smaller towns many will have places that are owned by clients that are up for rent....dodgy i know but iv had good and bad experiences going this route

@danielcunningham5940

After watching this now I am discouraged about moving to Ireland - from Massachusetts, U.S.A. I was studying Spanish and lookiing at maps of Panama and Costa Rica and then suddenly I learned about the violent protests in those countries. And they are troubled by refugees from other countries where the system has failed and it used to be they welcomed retired Americans there. Then I started to look at the cost of flights to Ireland and the visa requirements and now you tell me it is so expensive. The rise in prosperity followed by the climate changes and so many immigrants from all over the world and now the country is too crowded and there are not enough houses and hotels so the costs have jumped way up - that is how it appears to me. So I am looking at being poor in the U.S. or less poor in Ireland. I think the people over there and the cultural heritage make it worth while - or worth a shot. I just want to find some peace for my last years on the earth.
@d1cks0da5
@d1cks0da5 Жыл бұрын
If you are prepared to live in a smaller town or village the cost of living is much lower, but you will need to have a car most likely, if you are talking about your retirement period of your life and are not needing to live in one of the main cities it is definitely doable, also the country is small so 3 hours on a train will take you from somewhere small, affordable and peaceful to the capital city Dublin if you need to go or visit, look up the town sligo (beautiful quiet town) or Athlone the smaller towns are very affordable but would not have many job opportunities

@ChaosAngel1331
@ChaosAngel1331 Жыл бұрын
I live in the greater Dublin area so this would be a bit higher compared to living farther away from town so there would be cheaper areas. The average room (just a room) if your sharing a house 600 euro monthly on average, that may include some electricity bills. I've seen a 2 bedroom apartment for 1200 euro but you would be looking at at least €700 normally The usual 3 bedroom house is now €1200 if not higher. So it is quite expensive to live here and that isn't even considering gas, electricity or other bills.
