It’s quite sad to me how Robert didn’t manage to truly appreciate what a treasure he had in Tom until after Sybil was gone. I wish Sybil could’ve seen Tom grow on her family. Sadly it seems that it was her death that made her family more willing to accept him.

Here's something to think about, Matthew helped Tom during his grieving when Lady Sybil died. Fast forward a year or two later when Matthew dies and Tom helped Lady Mary as she continued to grieve for Matthew's tragic death. Tom was also compassionate to Lady Edith with the situation between Michael Gregson and Marigold. He even gained the respect of the Dowager Countess.

Any time I overstate my abilities I am reminded of Molesley and the importance of humility. That end of shot of the three of them together. You have to wonder what direction Julian Fellows might've taken the series if Dan Stevens had signed on for another 3 years. Only people who never watched it would say that. These light and fluffy storylines where they were all happy were usually the precursor to a major shock and of course in this instance that shock was Matthew's death.
@richard_njКүн бұрын
@@pipoo1 I watched the show start to finish three times, and cmon now, it's not that serious, neither the show itself, nor this one line from a sketch about it. And it's not about everything being light and fluffy, it's that a lot of problems that are being presented as such aren't problems to real people in the real world. Obviously there's death in the show (tho I might add, the big Crawley family deaths don't happen because the writing wanted them to happen, but rather because the actors wanted out) and they do touch other serious issues, with varying results... But the bulk of the storylines on the show boil down to things like "Are we going to have to live in a smaller country home alongside our Central London house?" or "How are we going to serve this dinner?" or "Which suitor is Mary going to choose?" or " Is Violet or Isobel going to win this quarrel over some random village happening?". That's what the show is like for a majority of its runtime. That's not a bad thing, but you can definitely make fun of it.

@DUCKDUCKGOISMUCHBETTER2 жыл бұрын
I'm American, and I have given this conundrum a great deal of thought. And as near as I can tell, there are a LOT of invisible little crickets on the ground. You can't hear them in the daytime because they're very quiet. But they are there under the field. Then you play this predecessor to American baseball. And you run around, and inadvertently stomp every one of these helpless crickets into the ground. 😂 I'm still working on the etymology of rugby. I haven't seen any rugs out doors, so I'm stuck, lol.
