Hood Eats aims to highlight different neighborhoods in the city of Chicago, introduce you to a new food review, and give you statistics all about the neighborhood! Today I head downtown to velvet taco and give you a different look of the city. The north side is where the majority of the money and wealth is within Chicago. With hood eats not really getting the chance to show off the near north side neighborhood or downtown, episode 10 takes a different path.
Riding motorcycles, sport bikes, Harley Davidson or anything on two wheels is what I love to do. Explaining how to ride, stoppie, drift or how to do burnouts on your bike, is what I love to do! Riding, racing, group rides, drifting, motorcycles, or street riding, every time I ride any kind of bike, it makes me feel alive. Currently on a 2004 636 Kawasaki Ninja street bike, a 2009 Harley 1200, and a Honda Grom!

I have been a truck driver for 16 years and a sport bike rider for 20+ years. This means I have traveled through every major city and also stayed, at least a weekend, in every major city in the 48 connecting states.The problem with the inner cities is the actions of the residents. I have been, and stayed the night, in Chicago outer city and downtown. I am just dumb founded at the mentality one or two miles can make. I just wanted to say this, and that I love your content, keep it coming. If you're ever in North Carolina again look hit me up, I'd love to ride with you and show you some great spots to eat. P.S. Not too long ago I really disliked going to Downtown Chicago because of all the people and traffic. Being from a small town south of the city I had this image of the city that was really close minded. That changed when my girlfriend and I took a weekend to the city and stayed at a hotel on Magnificent Mile. Had the time of my life. Museums, Ice Skating, Lou Malnati's, the zoo. Loved every moment of it. Definitely changed my image of downtown and would definitely would go back. Keep it up Brian.

I live in Sydney and we have a similar situation here with a great divide in wealth and only blocks apart. It was listed as the fourth most expensive city in the world to live in, only a few years ago. Peeps struggling to make ends meet and keep a roof over their heads, shirts on their backs and food in their bellies. All the while others live in their ivory towers, strutting around wearing clothes and bling that cost more than most make in a month or even a year! That said though, there are a lot of good peeps here (rich or not) and it's a pretty city. There aren't many harbours that look as spectacular as Sydney. That velvet cake looked mighty tasty! Damn I'm hungry, time for cake (but it's breakfast time). Thanks for showing us Chicago!
