She made the right choice. The 300 and 400 aren't aggressive style bikes. They're so smooth and great bikes for everyone, not just beginners. The bike is VERY forgiving. You shouldn't slam the breaks but if she does on this bike she won't get into trouble or flip her over the handlebars because of the ABS. Great bike. I have the 300 and I'm happy. I don't feel a need to get a bigger 600 bike. 300 or 400 is all I would need.

At 54 years old, I'm getting my first bike tomorrow!! On paper, I know how to ride but I don't have ANY experience actually doing it. I can ride a bicycle (LOL) and I've driven many stick-shift cars and trucks so I know the basic mechanics of the whole process. Seems to me that finding (and using) the sweet spot on the clutch is very important. I've watched several of your videos and found them very useful and informative. Now, I'm a subscriber. Thanks!!

It went pretty well, maybe even easier than I expected. For me, it was mostly about getting my timing down with the clutch throttle and gear shifter. I get better every time I take it out.

Just went through all that 2-3 weeks ago. The main thing the class told me was that I need to practice, particularly tight u-turns. I have a deposit down on a motorcycle that after I have a couple of parts installed, I'll have delivered to me so I don't go on the highway/interstate right away. I'll be practicing in my neighborhood and local park parking lot and then advance to commuting to work once I feel comfortable enough. That Ninja 400 would be a great complimentary bike to the one I have on hold.

Sorry for the late reply, time really flies! It sure hasn't felt like five months. Due to living in Europe, I had to start off on a 125cc motorcycle. I lucked out and got one for super cheap and rode the thing every single day. There were good times, bad times and amazing times but with it I've now got enough skills to move onto a bigger bike! I bought a 2009 Yamaha FZ-6, which is just awaiting insurance before I can go and ride it. It's been quite the journey!

For a long time, motorcycles seemed like a pipe dream to me due to a multitude of factors, but nevertheless over the years I continued to watch channels like Yammie and F9 because I still hoped one day the dream would happen. After the release of a specific type of bike I've been waiting for so long, I finally decided to get over my fears and make a serious attempt. It is with great pleasure to announce that I have just passed my MSF and am a proud owner of a ZX4RR. Thanks for everything Yam!

I appreciate that alot more than I thought I would. At the same time it's not rough at all or too buzzy and vibratey it's just right and super enjoyable. I'm alot better than I was when I started a month ago but still have weaknesses I need to practice more on and other skills I wanna really hone. I will be practicing in the parking lot every weekend on my slow speed skills.

I spent 10 minutes in my driveway and the rest on the road (Live on a dead end, small town, rode atvs/dirtbikes on road my whole life). So my first time experience might be different and more ballsy then others. Though I plan on getting some practice in a parking lot. Very helpful!

V similar here, 1974-77 went from FS1E to CB250K4 then CB750/4 K2. Totally natural back then, full of confidence, Now getting back onto it and zero confidence BUT the tip to practice for at least 2 days is great ie doesnt make me feel like that is abnormal so will be doing that. Years of driving cars takes all the natural balance/skill sets away, though the one thing that remains is to watch the road surface all the time and treat every other road user and pedestrian as a complete idiot.

mannn thank you for this!! i’m looking to get a starter bike… and i’m going for the venom x22r max cuz of how it looks and the price for brand new and starter bike and looks like a ninja bike still… i like riding bicycles over driving but of course bike riding for long distance is not a energy saver… and i just work, gym and home. so this will help me learn how to adjust to a motorcycle the minute i get on and learn the basics then the rest is up to my disciplined mindset and enjoy it and not ruin this good moment in my life… those last words you said at the end is what im teaching myself… adapt and improve in my life… i feel like this will help me become a better person to understand more patience and awareness…

Glad to have found this channel! I ve been interested in learning how to ride for quite awhile and I’ve recently decided now is the time. I plan to do the beginner and safety course this summer and hope to be comfortable and competent enough to buy my first bike which will b a ninja 400. I’ve located quite a few in the used market place in the area which is awesome. Lookin forward to following you

Great video guys. I'm re-learning to ride after many moons. The bike is bigger and I'll be riding in a city with notorious traffic. I know formal training is not optional. Like with water (my first love), I have a healthy fear and respect for the power of motorcycles.

This was really informative, i'm feeling really confident now. I taught myself manual on a car and would like to avoid that again. It was really rewarding but i'd rather just start with knowledge this time haha

5:56 this was a very expensive lesson for me to learn, and such a simple step. even if it's a brand new bike, give it an extra kick to ensure it's secured before you start to let the bike down.

Thank you for teaching us how to use a motorcycle. I'm looking at getting a Suzuki gsx 250 to learn on but I have no idea how to ride, nor do I have people to teach me. I'm only looking at motorcycles because I'd love to ride, but the gas prices are horrendous nowadays so I'm hoping to get a motorcycle to learn on soon. This has answered a few of my questions on how to get started to fingers crossed I now have a better time learning when I get there.

At 13:00 for turns it should've been mentioned that the cam was on the handlebars so the viewer can see the movement, but really you should turn your head in the direction that you want to turn. Look to where you want the bike to be don't keep looking forward.
