@@waltataylo1655 I came to say the same thing. These people have houses and most of these houses still look good. Some people's slums are filled with makeshift homes made out of four pieces of tin. With a little yard work and sprucing up, this neighborhood would look a lot better and they wouldn't call it a slum.

Chris W American infrastructure as a whole, has been on the decline since the 1970s. And yes, places with less employment and less property taxes etc.., have less money to fix infrastructure. Money is spent on other priorities such as water treatment, elected officials, police, fire dept, etc.. Sad...but true

So tax is essentially non-redistributive? As free market fundamentalist ideology it has its own logic, but it must make it even more difficult and demoralising for people who already have problems associated with living in poverty I'd have thought. Do areas that are caught in a downward economic spiral ever recover?

Also, nobody has to shame Jackson because they've and constantly do that themselves when they don't give a shit about themselves much less property, houses, their city or state and damn sure their country.. Nobody in Jackson is in a situation to where you're stuck, can't get a good job, start your own business and do something with your life instead of blame others and your situation.. Don't play the blame game and nobody feels sorry for you so stop feeling sorry for yourself. I want jackson to be a better place,i WANT it to brighten up with life and be worthy to be called our capital but it's not worthy at all.. I've to give tough love man because anything is possible if you just really try and i promise you that, nobody said it's easy because it's not but a better life is possible.. Believe in yourself man and go get what's yours but don't sit back and say you aren't where you need to be or could be because of so and so or because of this situation. Cowards do that man so MAN UP and do what you know you can do,NEVER DOUBT YOURSELF EITHER.. It will take time and alot of time but if you really wanna change your situation and wanna make something of your life,THEN YOU WILL,PERIOD AND SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!!

See the taller building on the right side of the screen next to the building that appears to be leaning In the opening clip , on the other side of that building on the top two floors is a hidden AT&T cell site ... I only know this because I wired it up in 2016 haha ... Looking at this building from any angle you can not tell its there but its in there and it's not easy to get to either .... We had to park in the parking deck on the left and borrow a cart from the little grocery store next door and carry everything from the parking deck across the street , load after load after load of all the equipment .... Getting everything from the parking deck to the top of the other building took longer than it did building the actual site and even though the job called for it to be done in 5 days , we still got it done in 4 with all the problems and issues including chasing down and correcting all the different alarms ... it literally almost took an entire day just to get all the equipment up there , another day to build the site , one day of chasing alarms and fixing everything and then on the last day we did the video audits and close outs , clean up and get all the trash and empty boxes down ... somewhere around this area was an old soul food restaurant and I can't remember the name of it but I'll never forget how good the food was there ... If anyone knows the restaurant I'm talking about I would love to know the name of it because even though I doubt I'll ever have another chance to eat there , I would like to know the name of it because it was literally some of the best food I ever ate (next to momma's cooking that is 😏)... Be blessed my friends and I pray that you all have a blessed joyfilled day and that you all day no to the snake bite and that you all stay focused on Jesus and Jesus Christ only in all of these hard and crazy times in Jesus Christ mighty name Amen🙏🙏🙏

These uploads are great because it shows the world just how poor so much of America is, and the fact that most Americans couldn't care less and don't want to help. IT's sad and disgraceful how little humility most Americans have. Literally tens of millions of people below the poverty line who will never be able to break the cycle.

We pulled off the highway and passed through Jackson one summer evening 2 years back. It was around 9pm and the streets were completely empty. We did not come across a single person on the sidewalk. Can anyone tell me why the place was so deserted? It was one of the eeriest experiences of my life.

Nikki Henry traveled all over. Currently in Silicon Valley. I agree the city could see some major improvements, but my point is it has its nicer areas too. I would support higher taxes for the area to maybe fix the potholes and improve the infrastructure in other areas too. As property values dip, investors are grabbing everything up (I’m one of them). I think at some point the you’ll see property values on the rise again, but it’s definitely going to take time.

Go from Gallatin up capital and back down Amite around 7:30am to see the homeless migration from the shelters to the park in front of the governors mansion. It looks like the walking dead. Then they have cops on standby to run them out of the park so people who work downtown or tourists won't be discouraged or aware of the problems beyond the potholes.
