I lived in Lexington as a kid in the 1960's and early 70's, and have been back regularly as I still have family there. Some of the later photos, especially, that you have posted here remind me of the Lexington that I grew up in. I still feel strange going into downtown now, with all the changes that have taken place. You are right, it was beautiful.

Thank you to all those who have commented and been nice. I haven't had the time to make a new video but want to. I have two children and time seems to slip away.

Great video. I actually think the music goes perfect with it. Really like it, makes it seem more nostalgic.

Kara, I loved this one too! I hope you continue to pursue this type of documenting. I've been fortunate enough to have been here for almost 7 decades and the changes I've seen are amazing. When you look at the small time frame since Lexington was founded and was once a fort...my great grandmother escaped an Indian capture, with her toddler children in tow...wonder what she would think now? I'll watch for more of your hard work, Again, thank you.

The city planning wizards turned Lexington into the ugliest downtown in America during the 60s and 70s. It remains hideous.

Even tho I've never lived in Lexington country, I certainly thought the alisw show was impressive enouigh to keep onesattention....HAD I BEEN A RESIDENT THERE ALL MY LIFE I SHOULD OF BEEN VERY INMTERESTED TO HAVE SEEN THIS COLLECTION OF PICTURES MANY DATING BACK TO THE TURN OF THE CENTURY. I'm up here north of the 49th in the big city of Vancouver Cda & yes we have a few heritage sirtes here including the Burrard Bridge. We also have churches and elementary schools that date back a century.
