Wow....... What good memories. I was a teen in the 60's here in Lexington, playing a lot of baseball and remember 95% of what you showed here. Great Job. BUT, would you or anyone else have any overhead pictures of the par 3 golf course on Mason Headley Rd? I grew up on Cheryl Lane and played a lot of golf there and now live there in a community call Headley Green. Would love to see a photo of the golf course to see what hole I"m living on. 🙂

Wish I did, use to play putt putt there often, had to dodge incoming golf balls!

John thanks so much for these memories; I moved away from my hometown Lexington in 1971 and I sure enjoyed this!

We left a couple of years before that, but I definitely was there for the 60s. My dad worked for UK out on Coldstream Farm, north of town. This video definitely brought back some memories.

John, thank you very much for the video. I grew up in Lexington in the 60s and 70s. Very nice to see photos of the old establishments that were a big part of my childhood.

That tiny Airport terminal was still operating in the early 70's! Very outdated. Lexington downtown was in very bad shape for awhile, especially that 10 year hole across from the old Courthouse. But, today it looks vastly improved, clean, vibrant, and kept up. Unfortunately, Lexington has lost a lot of it's character with the very sad loss of Parkette. Why more wasn't done to save that one of a kind establishment is truly tragic. The two Brothers owners tried very hard to make it a success. Also,a regional loss was the old Dish Barn. I used to travel from Louisville to see these, and other attractions at least once a year. Now, there's no reason to even come to cookie cutter Lexington.

Wish the photos had captions of what's going on, the date they were taken where they were taken (it's not obvious on most of them). Odd music!

your crazy must still be living in these times lol , the guns and drugs are out of control people are dropping like flies, rent is through the roof at a 1000% increase after inflation the revitalized areas still look terrible and are drug and gang ridden areas... I see at least one person OD a week and hear about someone getting shot every few days, this place is trash as of right now there can be change but as of right now not great
