Bourbon Whiskey is made and/or age outside the state of Kentucky. To be named "Kentucky Bourbon" it has to be atleast aged in the state of Kentucky. For example Bullet Bourbon is actually distilled in Indiana, but aged in Kentucky. But when it really comes down to it Buffalo Trace is the only true last Kentucky Bourbon, all others are owned by outside entities. If I'm not mistaken I think Jim Beam is owned by a Chinese company.

You explained our complicated merger well! It took three tries to get voters to approve merger. The first two times, in 1982 and ‘83 it failed by tiny margins on ballot referendums. Finally an altered and rather messy version passed in 2002.

And hows that merger goin for ya ? Southwestern Jefferson County was particularly affected - in a bad way - The roads for example - the police protection has gone downhill - it's unbelievable - its sad - & it makes me mad as hell - Thanks Jerry - and you too "Skatepark" Dave - speaking of the skatepark - yrs ago it cost the taxpayers $10,000 a month cleaning up graffiti and maintaining the bathrooms - hilarious

@uoflann44165 ай бұрын
I wonder if Kentucky's whiskey name "bourbon" came from King Louis' family/surname. Louisville was first a French outpost called "LA Belle." When Louisville was named Louisville, many French traditions were already firmly in place, and the residents more than likely adopted the French alcohol-naming process, e.g., "Champagne." Where only "spirits" produced in certain areas are allowed to use that name..? So I'm sure at one point in our history the story of only Kentucky being able to produce bourbon is true. Of course, that didn't last, and now any area can legally make bourbon.

Well I have a job offer in Louisville and I can say without a doubt that my own personal knowledge of Louisville plus theses in-depth videos I have decided that anywhere other than Louisville looks like a great place. I lived in St. Louis for 20 years and yeah North County, East St. Louis, and South St. Louis are terrible but everything west of downtown is nice. I can't say that for Louisville it's like Detroit and Baltimore. I don't care how much they offer me NO ABSOLUTELY NO.

Sad that downtown Lou is kinda dumpy. Nice architecture especially on Main st but other than that there is so very little commercial activity. A few good restaurants but very little in the way of retail destinations. For a city the size of Lou, their downtown looks like one half their size. With the exemption of Whisky row and some small suburban type of hotels , there is little in the way of investment. Cities a third the size of Lou like Richmond Virginia or Grand Rapids Michigan are considerably more bustling and are attracting big time real estate investors. I just don't get it .
