This is the salmon river. Known for steelhead, chinook salmon, brown trout…. But giant bass?! I guess so! I remember hearing from this dude years ago that he goes back after all the anglers leave and catches monster smallies. I was out here for a late season steelhead or two, but funny enough I actually hit the river during prime time bass fishing. Lucky me, I had my multispcies box still in my bag and after catching a bunch of small smallies throughout the trip and finally seeing a big one I tied on a good old ned rig! And the rest is history.

Yea so that place is stocked like crazy but The creek I fish off Ontario in my videos has not been stocked in years with steelhead and they stock the lake with browns and salmon close to here but no stealhead… which makes 90 percent of the fish in my system wild.

Dont fish braid in the salmon river. The amount of snags and break offs there are amazing Braid does not cut easy with a knife. Getting braid tangled up while wading is not good. Braid is not meant for everywhere and every tactic. It's for people who don't know how to play and fight a fish Mainly Googans and bait boobs.
