This simple upcycling made a HUGE difference in this vintage dress!

Hello friends! In today's video, I show you how I upcycled my customer's beautiful tweed dress into a two-piece set. It was pretty scary cutting right across the centre front into the beautiful embroidery. I think it turned out very nice and it's exciting that this piece will get a second life!

I can't say that the color palette of that tweed is my cup of tea, but the idea of the project, and certainly the craftswomanship is masterful, and so artful! The gathering of the one side of that chain trim was so smart...and I didn't even know black interfacing was a thing!!! So happy!

I loved the chain trim once you put it on the jacket. I like it better as a jacket than a dress. Great job!

I wasn't sure about it at first, but the fact that the chain trim covered that entire centre flower made so much difference. It looks great now.

I thought the trim was a good idea, but that this particular trim as to its color and design, took away from the unique and colorful look of the jacket. Nice tutorial, however, on how to go about this kind of up-cycle.
