@jammyjoyful he's fairly well known in the business, though maybe not to the public. He grew up around SRV and knows that whole circle of musicians. He's worked with Clapton many times, both as a songwriter for Clapton and as a second guitarist behind EC in his band. He's also toured with Roger Waters extensively. He's probably not more well known because this style of music isn't really "in fashion" any more.
