I believe you can be humble and confident. Putting humility with low self-esteem is a play against words. People assume you must be weak if you are humble. However that's far from the truth. A person who is confident in themselves and in God are aware of the importance of being humble in situations that would usually call a person to think of themselves than others. The world says humility is thinking low of yourself but in God's eyes humility is putting others before you in a situation where you could only think of yourself. Confident and Cocky are on two different spectrums of defining personality. Confident is the assurance of one's ability where Cocky is being boastful and thinking you're better than other people. A true man and woman of God would want to be Confident and Humble. Just my opinion. Thanks for the videos and keep them coming. They are great conversations to have with others. God Bless:)

You were so on point when you said about the low self -esteem and calling it being humble , because I a lot of Christians say that , I am guilty of saying that and even acting that way . I’m learning that it’s all about knowing who I am in Christ & understanding that I am created in the image and likeness of our creator. It’s a daily process for me .

When I read the title I was wondering how he will connect that with Christ and then.. BINGO! That question in the beginning is definitely the truth. After all those years, I finally understood what "Identity in Christ" means. And that's helping me with my confidence (physically, mentally or in life). Now, I'm embracing myself a little bit more everyday and I'm not comparing myself with others anymore. Very great video & message!

Shame on me, when I closed my eyes I didn't think of me...lol. I've learned in life that you can please all people sometimes, you can please some people all the time, but there are those you can't please at anytime! Clothes, shoes, cars, hairstyles, are constantly changing. When you learn to love yourself, that should never change! If you don't love yourself, don't expect anyone else to love you! True love begins with loving yourself from deep within & it will flow & show on the outside.

I know I'm fine. (snapsnap!) But that confidence only came after, like you, I stopped looking for others' validation. Thanks for the post! *What's great about this is that identity pulls all of your points together. When you know who you are, you have confidence, you dress the part, and you walk your talk because you know who's on the inside of you. Okay, I'm done. 😂

I've been told that I have a presence when I walk into a room. I've been told I usually appear confident. I don't ever see it to be truthful and could never figure out why anyone would ever say that about me. I often do not feel confident or even comfortable when I walk into a room. However, I do know who I am and, for the most part, am pretty happy with myself and the work I've done to grow and be a better person. I have struggles in other areas though so sometimes my self-confidence suffers as a result. However, my self-esteem is rooted in liking who I am as a person so I rarely have issues there. I have work to do still. My perfection only exists when I meet my heavenly Father, but I know I am worthy because Christ made that possible for me. I think this is so key. Confidence comes with constant self-assessment. It comes with consistent working on one's self to be who God created you to be. Confidence is so attractive because we all want to be confident and believe in ourselves. The bad part is some do not want to work at it and selfishly put the responsibility on others to provide it for them. This is too much to ask of anyone. There is no way I, or anyone, can ever live up to that standard and constantly be that for you. We seek in others what we want for ourselves and then get upset when they fail to deliver it to us 100% of the time. The only one that can make you feel is you. People can help you feel, sure, but only you control your feelings. What we tell ourselves will eventually control what we feel about ourselves. This works both positive and negative. This in turn is what we will present to others. Knowing you are a child of the King even when you don't feel like one is how we overcome. Our feelings betray us. We need to grab ahold of God's promises and hang on tight. People who are truly humble are that way because they understand this and work at it. I believe being humble goes hand in hand with confidence because we have to be secure in ourselves first in order to lay aside ourselves for others. Honestly, those who are arrogant usually are deep down trying to force you to believe they are confident when they really are not. They usually suffer from low self-esteem and are putting on a show to mask it. I usually can see right through it which is why people who are arrogant do not bother. Just to avoid confusion, I want to clarify that I am in no way saying Dozie is being arrogant. He is being confident and enthusiastic in Christ. I'm always down for that! Much love and thanks for sharing.

No Surey Bob... hahaha, haven’t heard that in forever. It is a horrible life to live not seeing the beauty of you. I tried to shoot myself down a few times as a young girl, but God put it in me to like myself including the way I look. When I have days I don’t feel attractive I dress up and I eventually get back in my right mind. You have to love you to love anyone else. Heck the Word itself says to love thy neighbor as thyself. No one will want to be with anyone who they have to constantly build up all the time. You have to be convinced. Attractiveness goes waaaay beyond your outward appearance, when the inside is right it generally spills out.

Confidence isn’t about what you look like, that’s being vain. True confidence comes from within. The Bible talks about giving someone who has on good apparel the best seat in the house and telling someone who comes in looking rough to stand in the back. I feel these days we focus so much on the outside when what’s on the inside is so much more important and true. You can look the best in the room but within look the worst.
