Owned mine for 3 years now, went with the Works #1 but changed to the Stiletto Chokes. Still puts a smile on my face every time i shoot it. My buddy bought a KSG same day and tried 2say it was better cause cheaper, theres a reason KSG is cheaper, he had nothing but issues sold it 6months later. I will never get rid of my DP-12 absolutely love it.

Since it has been 3 years, have you cleaned it yet? If so, did you need to have a gunsmith do it? I am looking to purchase one but I hear every 10k rounds you should take to gunsmith for maintenance because it is over-engineered and has so many parts.

@@Sleepwalkyr not necessary to bring it in. All you have to do is take it apart from the shoulder pad and move forward toward the choke with disassembly. There's multiple videos on it.

Nice to finally see some fresh invention. There hasn't really been a whole lot of innovation out there since the Winchester and Ithaca trench guns. It seems like 95% of the pump-action designs released since the early 1900's have been nothing but patterns based off of those concepts. The only complaint I've heard about this design so far is that of reluctance to feed in certain angles between straight down and about ~45 degrees downward from level. I'd be interested in seeing some more extensive reliability tests under those conditions performed across a wide range of serial numbers. Perhaps some current owners would care to upload tests of their own guns? Otherwise, this has been one of the most successful releases I've heard of, based on third party reviews.

To the guys that own the DP-12, I've been looking for video reviews for a few weeks now. I'm not seeing many listed that show testing with this gun. I've heard of two negatives being the gun has the tendency to jam when racked at a certain angle and that the take down for cleaning of the gun is difficult and requires a bench with a screw driver. Anything else you guys would add regarding this? Also how is the accuracy? I'm interested to know how slug accuracy is at distance with the double barrel aiming. The KSG has been praised for its slug accuracy so how does this compare? Thanks for any replies as I'm looking at getting one and all the info I can get would be appreciated.

+Jesse James Larry Vickers said he knew of a guy that had problems shooting at an angle but that Standard Manufacturing fixed this problem. As for jams...I've only seen one video where a guy had a jam and it could've been a short stroke. it was hard to tell. I'd wait a couple more months for some more vids. But I'm thinking the guns good, and personally I hate the KSG. Everyone seems to have jams except the youtube bigwigs like nutnfancy who probably are sent guns that are inspected to the max to ensure they won't mess up on his videos.

I heard though that if you point the muzzle straight at the ground at too extreme an angle, you can no longer cycle a round which is a deal breaker. I noticed in the test he failed to do that, I assume because its a known limitation.

I chose the KSG instead. 4 main reasons. Weight. Length. COST. And I can run a supressor or large muzzle break. Quality wise the DP12 is better, but not for the cost. If im going to spend over 1400 for a shotgun its going to be well out of the league of a gimmick DP12. Plenty of options out there both semi, and pump. Ak style, AR style, bullpup, or traditional stuff like the good ol benelli m4, the super 870, mossburg 590 etc etc that can run literal RINGS around the DP. And have been chosen by militaries worldwide for decades in some cases for a reason. It may be the best for you, as each gun fits each persons "play style" differently. But its FAR from the best gun available.

Aluminum trigger, lighter spring, anodized aluminum high vis followers, magpul flip up sights, billet aluminum front hand pump, howitzer muzzle break, recoil pad, shell ejection deflector, and 14 around aluminum rail round carrier. Added a streamlight TLR1 and a QD sling point and thats it. So grand total of a little over 825.

That's an amazing purchase, might have gone with the KSG in that case however short shucking kinda scared me off. KSG is definitely more of a project gun. I definitely like the idea of utilizing two different ammunition types and its ammunition capacity is amazing.

@@lucipurr4900 it will fail consistently if short shucked. So when operating it I just force myself to stay aware of slamming it forward and back with excessive force. And slow down. There is no reason you should be trying to send 2 rounds a second down range with a pump. If you want rapid fire, pump is an extremely poor choice, get a benelli m4 or something. I have 3 inch bear mag slugs in one tube, and 00 buck high brass in the other. Then slugs of various types on the 14 carrier, and on each side of the stock is a velcro 7 round carrier where I keep oddball rounds like flashbangs, dragons breath, exploding rounds, AP rounds and bird shot. Not counting the shell 24 round carrier I have on my vest/bag thats 43 rounds on and in the gun. Makes it heavy yes, but it also makes recoil almost 0 with the muzzle break and butt pad. Putting total rounds just for the shotgun I can carry to 67. And I will have my FN 509 tactical in my leg holster, as well as my RDB-S inside my backpack with 7 30rd mags.
