She is so fast! She looks off for a tenth of a second and comes up with an answer that is astute, on the button. I would take me a minute of umming and erring to come up with something stupid. The interviewer is good too. But it is his job. This actress is a better critic than a good critic.

Cate Blanchett is a phenomenal actress and we all know that, but in Blue Jasmin she was not acting, she became Jasmin. I was tacked to every second of her appearence. In a cooperation with a great camera, I think we were able to see the very moment Jasmin´s light faded out. The multi expressional figure reduced into a broken, empty face - the scene in a shower after which she walked out to the streets, already lost for good. What a great movie this is !

Interesting how few subscribers DP/30 has, and how few views many of the interviews have even with the very popular actors. It's a little strange.
@dp3011 жыл бұрын
The number of subscribers more than doubled in the past year. Views going up steadily.I would love some kind of freaky breakout, but no other media links to the interviews because they all want to promote their own 5 minute junket interviews or whatever. Also, the 30 minute format clearly scares off some people, though in KZbin land, we have an unusually long time of viewer retention. I appreciate the growth. I wish I had the time to market the show more aggressively. But I am too busy making it. Thanks for the kind thought.
@insaneapples155911 жыл бұрын
You have the talent sitting in front of the camera and you're on the cusp of something people can talk about. I was sorry to see your Kickstarter didn't work out, and I think it was just a lack of awareness on the public's part rather then a lack of interest to pledge. You can definitely get there but you need to make yourself popular and well known, not just the interviews you shoot. The thing people love to watch in terms of interviews is something they can't find anywhere else. The little junkets and plugs they do on talk shows are uninteresting and people love those real, down to earth interviews. Believe it or not but some of the best celebrity interviews I've seen are on Howard Stern, and not due to the outrageousness of Howard but rather the conversations he has with those guests. He has the ability to get them to open up about almost anything and it's really interesting to watch/listen to. Anyway, point is if you really want those views, subs and pledges then don't be afraid to ask those more personal questions, their views on current events and so forth. After doing 20,000 interviews the last thing they want to talk about a lot of the time is the movie they're promoting! My 2c, good luck.

Cate Blanchett _sounds_ very intelligent, but she may not actually be. It's probably just 'good breeding', which, admittedly, most Aussie women don't have, so i guess she is better than most.
@Napoleon99711 жыл бұрын
What a bizarre comment. Rather mean-spirited too.
@lamentate0711 жыл бұрын
***** Nobody knows her, yet most commentators/critics/fans always talk about how intelligent and sophisticated she is. My point is that she may not be. They are just impressed by the way she speaks, but that's mostly a result of things like class and 'good breeding'.
@alyshap499211 жыл бұрын
I didn't seem to like this comment very much, being Australian myself, it is a narrow minded stereotype. It's like every country- you have parts where people are brought up with good education and there are parts that don't have the resources to provide better education. Most 'women' that i know, 'Australian' are quite intelligent actually. If you have ever met ones that aren't or laid-back, they might have been brought up in the country or in poorer areas. Australia was settled by the British Monarchy, so our English, education and manner is reflected by England. That was a very 'dumb' comment- maybe your not that intelligent. Well it appears to be.
@lamentate0711 жыл бұрын
John Kent Cate speaks in a way that most likely reflects her class position and/or level of education. My point is that it's the way she speaks, not necessarily the content, that people are often impressed by. Have you not seen any research about the connection between accents and perceptions of intelligence? It's quite revealing, but not all surprising. There absolutely is a difference between sounding intelligent and being intelligent. What i said indicates that i am aware of the difference between form and content, medium and message. If that makes me sound like an 'idiot', then fine, but I would suggest reading a bit more widely. Start with Aristotle 'The Metaphysics' and go from there. Things are not always what they appear to be. P.S I never said she was 'unintelligent'.
@catherinetodd11 жыл бұрын
dios bananos I have read your comments and the replies through, and I don't understand anything about what you are saying. Where did your idea / question about Cate's "being intelligent/educated" or "may not be intelligent/ well educated" come from in the first place? Did she say or do something in this interview that made you think that?
