I can really relate to not knowing your real accent. I grew up in rural Tennessee around really strong southern accents. My whole family has southern accents but I've spent my entire adult life in NYC and LA and I lost it. I just soak up the way the people around me talk. People say "speak in a Southern accent" and when I do it just feels like putting on any accent not my "real' accent.
