My theory is that Robert was so tired after the twilight era that he swore to only pick roles he truly wanted after that. Good to see that twilight was a stepping stone to creative freedom. Hope he nails batman.

Plus, it helps that he made enough money off those films that he doesn't need to worry about money ever again. So he can work with small budgets and stuff.

This is the film that turned me on to him as a true character actor. And YES, then The Lighthouse. EPIC! I'm either very nervous or uninterested/indifferent for The Batman. . . . . But hoping it'll continue his recent peak & sincerity, though I feel that'll depend much more on its writers and director, have not even been looking into that much at all. Too many other great projects emerging recently.

Love Benny's dedication to improvising his character to the point that it scares Rob. Don't know many directors that go this full on for their acting. This is neorealism on another level. I kind of love Rob's extreme anxiety.

Rob Pattinson's acting process sounds both fascinating and masochistic as he seems to like to "suffer" for his art, some actors need the emotional and/or physical literal pain to feel the moment they are enacting, I noticed some years ago He would bite his own hand pretty hard before a take leaving his own teeth imprints just avoiding breaking the skin.
