Rob Pattinson seems to have a knack for picking great indie films and filmmakers as vehicles to express his acting creativity and obviously the Safdies have a great ability to recognize true talent and interesting character actors of which Rob is one! Good luck at the Palme d'Or.

6:40 "I saw a still from Heaven Knows What on Indiewire" haha yeah that's a great image and same. 10:13 "I'm doing a movie with Antonio Campos, David Michod, and Ciro Guerra" OMG HYPED! Simon Killer and Afterschool are amazing very Haneke-ish films. Embrace Of The Serpent is incredible. 12:30 "Not a single person even took a cellphone picture!" Robert Pattinson on trying to avoid being noticed by paparazzi while filming, experimenting with looks. 18:37 Oneohtrix Point Never's involvement 23:48 35mm photography and lighting "We're gonna go genre? We're gonna do genre." 26:50 Buddy Duress using his ex-criminal history as a positive "3 years ago I was in a really bad place and to think now I'm at Cannes, it's crazy!" 30:40 Safdie bros tapping into Robert's mania

buddy cracked a smile which is hilarious (or sad, depending) given that he's been in jail 8 times... and rob's the thug hahaha. he was excellent though.

@@arunkeshavadas7171 i cant remember where i heard that because it was over a year ago, but after i saw good time i binged all the interviews i could find and, yeah, buddy was in and out of jail his whole life. i dont remember when he said "8" though, but it's such a crazy number that it stuck with me (my feelings on the criminal justice system aside). the safdie brothers found him through street casting during heaven knows what - just some random dude they ended up loving. maybe the actress in it knew him? idr. they met her when she was handing out her memoir on the street and then turned it into a movie starring the author. it's honestly all really heartwarming.

So the actress was only 16 years old? They should have said publicly that she was 18, so that it didnt sound so illegal
@zenyoo4855 жыл бұрын
No the actress was born in 1998 so she was 18/19 during the filming of this movie.

Superb film. Lacklustre press conference, I would say, on part of the directors who can't seem to say a complete thought without restarting their sentence 4 times. Not to mention go on diatribes that are not insightful and aren't answering any of the questions. Am I the only one who finds it frustrating trying to listen to these guys?
@sweetsweet2735 жыл бұрын
Think because he also worked as a screenwriter on the film, Josh has a tendency to speak a tad bit too much about the whole process from the genesis to the finality and it's not always important/interesting. Benny, on the other hand is more generous in his answers and has an easier time acknowledging others. Truly enjoyed the movie though. The darkness, the hectic rhythm, the helplessness/hopelessness all mixed with the whole humour of it. Brilliant.
