I'm guessing its just that a lot of the people that use KZbin don't think to watch 35 minute interviews. Since a lot of the trending ones are just few minute long highlights. People who actually take the time to watch these are well rewarded. These are definitely the best interviews on KZbin.

I wouldn't necessarily call the trending ones - few minute long "highlights". They are mostly shallow with plenty of common oneliners trying to make the interviewed individual entertaining to the general mass, nothing that really brings out the uniqueness of the person, as David has done very well here.
