Dave said it, Harvey still has this energy that is so compelling and its the same energy he had in all of his films. I watched an interview of Harvey at 82 and he still has it.

Harvey Keitel is one of the greatest treasures we have in all of Hollywood. I was introduced to him in highschool, when I saw a film called The Bad Lieutenant, and his pureness of it all, no one else can really give, as he does. I'm very thankful that he is still here making great films, there's never going to be anyone like him again.

I spent quite a few years working in the film production business as a lighting tech and grip. I once met a fellow electrician that told me he was working high up on a ladder rigging some lights and when he came down the ladder Harvey Keitel was footing the ladder for him to make sure his was safe. A man for the people not just in his words but in his deeds as well.

He has like half a dozen performances that got snubbed by the Oscars. Bad Lieutenant (dafuck? One of the greatest snubs in film history) is one, another is The Piano, wonderful, ultramasculine yet sensitive work as George Bains. Another favourite of mine is his Judas in The last temptation of Christ in my mind the definitive portrayal of the character. He got too much flak for his strong NY accent which was slightly distracting (Scorsese wanted the jews to talk like Americans and the Romans like brits) but otherwise that characterization had the depth and detail his strongest works always had.

Waow, it looks like all those great actors and directors that made great movies in hollywood in the from the 70' to the 90' are really Disappointed by what hollywood produces now. Harvey did a lot of foreign movies where he discovered that quality was abroad: I saw him in " The Ulysse Gaze ", my gosh ! this movie is perfect. And that's true, Harvey energy and intensity didn't change from his twenties. Now in Italy, ... Like Martin Scorcese they think hollywood have to reinvent itself.

Any movie with H.K. in it - I will watch because I know Harvey will do such a great job - He will play a great part of the character he's chosen to play - And subsequently if his fellow cast members know Harvey (which of course they will • Such a great actor how could they not know him? ) ...That they would go the extra mile not to be out done & have harvey steal all the screen time ? Watching this interview was a breath of fresh air - He's just a pleasant down to earth guy - Just watched a TV show on sky arts 011 free view called - "Discovering ...HARVEY KIETEL" & Its like a bio of the Movie Star & how he started the movies he made -The movies that he excelled in and made him what he is today ! Ha! Theres around 5 series each episode picking all the various hollywoods greats - The best bit is you get to learn the names of all the movies these stars have made and they'll point out the ones worth watching and why ? This was a great interview ! - You asked great questions - And you let harvey finish before you asked another question ? - but what I also liked was you didnt talk about yourself ? - There are alot of people with talk show in the UK - Who think the shows about them ? - They get these great stars on Their show - Some of them hard to get interviews - And instead of firing decent questions to the person being interviewed - You know - Stuff that poeple would like to know about them but instead they talk a load of dribble and before you know it shows ending ? - The worst thing is when the person being interviewed is interupted midvsentence by the interviewee -to talk about his self ? -The worst guy on televison for that Is Jonathan Ross ?- He's a me me me guy ! - Thankyou for sharing this great informative interview ! - All the best SB British Isles

He explains his craft in an understandable manner whereas De Niro obviously find's it difficult to the extreme. Interesting to compare both their career's, both similar skill set's but vastly different personas and public appreciation. He explains exactly the current Hollywood situation.

Don’t know anything about Harvey personally, but he’s one of the few actors that can still be great with a shitty script. A difficult trick. Since he never had the luxury of getting great scripts all the time, he’s done shitty movies to pay the bills. But always delivers.
