I have been binge watching the crap out of this show for the last week. Wayne is one of my favorite characters ever. He is tough, honorable, looks out for his sister and his friends. He passes that knowledge on to little Samuel, big brothers are to protect little sisters, you only get one family and they are to be loved and respected. He doesn't cheat on his girlfriends. Doesn't take advantage of Bonnie when she would be the easiest takedown in history. Wayne is as about a decent man as there has been on TV in a long while.

this, and most other blocking choices in letterkenny, are a major reason why the show is funny. the show makes use of a lot of very rigid blocking, mostly pertaining to wayne, but the order characters sit in is almost always consistent, the way people run, sit, stand is often completely identical every time. the hard blocking makes for great jokes, setting up expectations and subverting them with nothing but standing up and camera work, and Jared Keeso and his crew know exactly what they're doing when they do it like that.

Still feel bad for Wayne after what happened with Marie-Fred. They're beginning to hint at some fairly tough shit that happened to Wayne when he was young (from things Katy said when he was self-medicating in the snowmobile shack it's implied they both might have had a bit of a rough childhood), and the way he reacts to certain things, like the blinking a lot after Marie-Fred says, "It's been a pretty tough go, eh?" it seems like there's some turmoil in Wayne's head. Just another thing that makes this show awesome beyond the hilarious lowbrow humor.
@mindaugasmazrimas45544 жыл бұрын
I think they hinted at Wayne and Katy having a tough up-bringing when they did “The softest birthday party ever” and Daryl essentially tells Squirrely Dan that the only reason he even keeps them going is because Wayne and Katy never got to celebrate theirs so while theyre planning the softest birthday party ever, everything they order/make for the party is what they wouldve wanted at their party, if that makes sense
