What do you do after winning an Oscar for playing Stephen Hawking? Well, of course you take on a role as one of the pioneers of transsexualism. Eddie Redmayne shows his range and his fearlessness in his new film, The Danish Girl. He spoke to David Poland about the role and his rather intense 2014/2015 the morning after the film's premiere at TIFF.
Shot in Toronto, September 2015

A wonderful interview, The Danish Girl is a masterpiece, everyone who worked on the film did such fantastic job of bringing the story of Lili to life, Eddie and Alica were phenomenal, i'm not ashamed to say i've watched it several times and wept everytime.

I cant wait for this film!!! Hes so humble, I think there's something symbolic about his desperation to be educated, I hope the world keeps moving in this direction. Hes a great actor

Thanks again for another beautiful Eddie Redmayne interview. It's lovely that these sessions last 30 min+. It doesn't feel rushed and you get a bit more of the interesting stuff, not just the boring press junket stuff. Though with Eddie it never get's boring hearing the same story over and over and over again.... So thanks a lot again.

Awkward silence at the end = starts talking about the weather. How British! Amazing interview by the way, as always. :) Thank you SO much for doing these!

This is a lovely person, genuinely humble yet talented. He ages well too. I don't know how many years ago the first time I saw his film, it was one of his early films, but I was very young then. He hasn't changed much appearance-wise since then. In fact, he's looking better and better.

Have you seen The Danish Girl? It's one of the finest films ever made, in my opinion. And ER's talent, hardwork, and mostly courage are at the core!
