Funny how the KZbin culture gets people to say "Thanks for watching". You just delivered perfectly clear information on an import topic for 7X series owners. Thank you for presenting this. It's a good as help gets. Jason

I'm glad that I don't have to put up with any after treatment system's, like DPFs , good information about how you dealing with it Denny, it's easy to see how so many people have so much trouble with it , not just with cruiser's but across the whole newer diesel powered vehicle's. 👍

At least the Fortuner gives you a notification on the screeninstead of a 90s model dash and warning light

I got a 78 series 2022, and I was confused about the light (coming from a 2019 Hilux), the sticker on the inside seems to be wrong, you don' t need to press the 'manual regeneration' button, as you've mentioned. Toyota didn't know how the 78 regen behaviour worked. Legends on a facebook group told me it's an 'indicator that burn is occurring' and I've also got the same experience with how long the burn takes (usually 5 minutes). I'ts annoying Toyota can't tell you how it operates but I'm not worried any more!

Legend mate, I've just got a 200 series and its my first car with a DPF, so I"m very new to this and really appreciate the info. It's got a DPF button on the dash, what happens if i press it, does it initiate a burn?
@TeamBulletOffroad Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, one would assume, here's a general note on that buttons job {The DPF regeneration / cleaning button should be used when the DPF warning light illuminates on the dash WITHOUT the EML / Check engine light. This warning light shows that the DPF has reached its defined limit of particulate matter and needs attention or in simple terms - it’s blocked.} But in saying that the workshop manual in the 79 and the indicator light on my dash don't Gel.... So when my light comes on, it means its doing a burn already, but a mates couple of month earlier 79 does a burn without the light, same as my wife's fortuner so in those vehicles those instructions probably work.. Hope this helped

The problem I see most cars soot before the rpm full boost is usually available from. Say 1800 rpm I found owning a few cars with dpf Is if they sit under that, its constantly filling the filter with soot. The fortuner is shocking for this. Keep the rpm at 2k or above and never had one show up its doing a burn ever since. Owned a grandcherokee and when the dpf was getting full from leaving it in auto aroud town it would then lock out the gears to keep its self above 2k until it was done. The fortuner at 100 wants to sit at 1600 rpm and chews more fuel 10-12L/100 and ends up doing a burn . then if I make it sit in 5th revs about 1900 it doesn't clog its self up uses about 9.5 L/100. They work once you figure them out. But they shouldn't exist.

@@TeamBulletOffroad you're definitely better clearing the dpf on a quick highway run to minimise bore wash-down during the regen burns
