Talk about privilege in meritocracy being entrenched across generations then first thing first is to abolish the "priority for alumni's kid" rule in school admission exercises. CNA did a whole documentary on this before, so Im pretty sure the Government is well aware.

Phase 1 makes sense in convenience sense as parents should only need to send kids to 1 school. 2A2 also same but should abolish the affiliated kindergarten clause as it just shifts the problem up stream. The Alumni(2A(1)), Volunteer (2B), Church and Clan(2B) Phases should be abolished. Phase 2B literally goes directly against our pledged values of "regardless of race and religion" and People are "volunteering" for priority to schools this together with 2A(1) is how enclaves of elites and elite schools are formed.

Every country is looking inwards to save their own necks in view of the fact that the system has been broken prior to Covid 19 pandemic. That said, the financial crisis was already in the freefall since 2018 adding to the misery came Covid 19 and now hyper inflation. Nonetheless, what happened to Sri Lanka already happened to many other countries and will soon come to Singapore *unless we start looking inwards* . However, there was never a shortage of Natural Gas and Fuel Oil. Likewise, there was never a shortage of Cooking Oil or Chickens for food but a politically and financially motivated caused by the shortfall during the pandemic and prior to that the 2018 financial crisis. In short, the world is in a quagmire therefore *price jacking will be the natural next step* (profiteering) to stay afloat. Some of the comments in this post are prophetic I must say, that Singapore is headed for a very bumpy ride no matter how well spoken or positive Mr. LW can get. Therefore, we can never see what's ahead in 10 years but with the exception of bad to the worst news at present be it, wars or rumors of wars, pestilences, famines, earthquakes, lawlessness...etc.. The only silver lining for Singapore is trust nobody especially when you see our nation is moving towards the Globalist Agenda of the WEF. Since we cannot trust the bible on things we can see, all the more reasons we cannot trust the bible on what it says about things we cannot see.
