While it's always a pleasure to see nice work, what would really set your video's apart for newbies like me is some narration on the thought processes behind the decisions that were made and the key things to look for at each stage. I encourage you to share the knowledge you obviously have. THank you.

Wow, that looks great. Love 356s. Dad had a 1958 B model, totally restored and painted Alfa red, new tan interior. Sadly, he sold it. Wish he had kept it, considering today's prices!

Nice work. As a decient backyard auto body guy myself ...can you tell me what kind of primer you use, what kind of paint do you use ? Do you like the 2k epoxy primer ? And do you prefer block sanding? (the curved body lines of the 356 everything has to flow . I’ve done all my sheet metal work ( welding) and now I’m about to start my body work Can I ask ; what type of rust killer, ( ospho, etc) did you use ? And did you do the “ led tinning” tgat the factory did? Or did you use modern type body filler? I have rust creeping through the old primer and paint . So what do you use to kill this type of rust . Thanks fir your vid and reply🤙🏽

Another great vid! What’s your dogs name? Dug? How many hours on the job? Keep the good work up lads!
@dpmtv76933 жыл бұрын
Doug is the dog! This job was 700 hours. Ideally wanted a lot more spent on metal work and underside work but customers budget didn’t allow for this as it was originally only in for accident repairs!

@@dpmtv7693 Hello! What brand paint did you use for painting? Max Meyer?
@andreasvenator3 жыл бұрын
While you guys did a superb job of prepping, sanding, prepping sanding, prepping sanding, painting and polishing (phew!!) the owner should have invested more time and money in getting more thorough metal work done on those parts that suffer most on a unibody construction: denude one of these old Porsches and dip in acid and you will see the bottom quarter of the body is TOAST! In this case the floor pans as well as front and rear closing panels should have gotten more attention and more than likely have been replaced. Quite a shame as the next owner will pay for being bedazzled by your fantastic work. But that´s the difference; on the continent we check for these things before forking over our hard earned money. Still: GREAT job on the PAINT!!
@dpmtv76933 жыл бұрын
Couldn’t have said it better! Would have much preferred to fully strip down and dip and that’s what I put forward to the client but unfortunately did not fit his budget - shame as could have been a lovely example. We did what we could for the budget. Floor pans had been previously done luckily but it wanted dipping and a lot more invested to re panel a lot of it! Thanks for the comment
@andreasvenator3 жыл бұрын
@@dpmtv7693 Geez, may I ask what the budget was??
@andreasvenator3 жыл бұрын
I have budgeted about 700 man-hours for the metalwork and 300 hours for the paint.
@dpmtv76933 жыл бұрын
@@andreasvenator we had 750 hours for full job. So not enough at all. Depends on how much work is needed. But I’d say 300 hours for prep and paint is no where near enough. Filler level, prime, prep and re prime and paint and full flat and polish is easy 500 hours. Probably more
