DPR Ian, also known as Christian Yu, is the founder of Dream Perfect Regime (DPR). DPR is not a boyband; they are a collective group of musicians and directors that started with four friends: DPR Live, DPR Cream, DPR Rem, and Ian. Ian, who used to work behind the scenes as a director, producer, and chief editor, helps create music videos and other creative projects. To fund their projects, Ian and Rem make music videos for other artists. Most of DPR Ian's music and videos are related to his struggles with bipolar disorder and D.I.D. Ian's bipolar disorder fuels his creativity and influences the lore in his videos. He's very transparent about how he creates his music, lyrics, and music videos, which he tends to show when he's live on stream.

The music videos consist of different characters who represent different parts if his mental health struggles. The character in this music video is Mr. Insanity, who is a personification of what DPR Ian feels like when he's having a manic high. We were first introduced to Mito (who represents depressive episodes) in his first album 'Mood Swings in This Order'. Mito is also the protector of the system in regards to Ian's DID. So you will see imagery of Mito chasing Mr. Insanity in some mvs. Or he will be menacingly in the bg. The most recent music video released was Limbo, which introduced a new character called "The Hybrid" The Hybrid represents that feeling of being stuck between manic highs and lows. That small period of time where Ian's body is full of chaos. Ian said he feels like The Hybrid is stuck in purgatory, right in between heaven and hell, waiting to be judged. Ergo- his introduction MV is called Limbo.

Dream Perfect Regime is a collaborative group. DPR Ian is ONE of the musicians that are a part of it. DPR Live is also very popular for his hip hop. Live has been making music in DPR for longer than Ian, before Ian came out with so beautiful, he was the director for all DPRs videos. Now he directs his own music videos along side the rest.

While it's true that Dream Perfect Regime is the name of the label, it's probably a bit closer to an artistic collective where the members may have individual persuits and artistic vision but relies on the collective to execute and support it. For example, DPR Ian is a director and film editor in addition to being a songwriter, performer and musician. He'll direct the videos of other members in addition to his own and has directed videos of artists outside of DPR as well.

Getting into DPR IAN is probably one of the best decisions you could make! 😂 Another funfact about DPR IAN would be that he used to be in a Kpop Group called C-Clown going by the stagename "Rome" before founding DPR~ They were pretty popular newcomers during that time!

DPR IANs real name is Christian Yu. He changes his name to fit the stages of his life. He went to Korea in late teens early 20s. He realised he knew nothing about his heritage so what better way to learn than to jump on a plane and move there without knowing the language 😂 He said he grew up in suburbia surrounded by Caucasians and he got a massive culture shock in Korea as all he could see were Koreans and not a single Caucasian to be seen. He was there for about a year when he got Street Cast to be an idol. He hated it, it wasn't for him but it opened the door for music for him.

OMG. Welcome to the world of DPR IAN. He’s so good. Everything he makes is a masterpiece. His Mito Movie is one of the BEST MV I’ve ever seen. It’s beautiful, aesthetically pleasing, and just down right insane! 😂 Please I hope you find the time to react to it. It’s 4 songs from his 2 album Moodswings In To Order from 2022. So Ian has bipolar disorder and DID : Dissociative identity disorder in short he has multiple personalities the smoke is Mito one of his personality who is trying to come to the front because Insanity another personality and the one who also is in the mv is someone who goes to the extreme and sometimes put them in danger so in real life Mito mostly comes at the front when Insanity goes too crazy he's the protector of Ian consciousness in the medical field we call it a : "Protector Alter"

Groups with foreign members? Sounds like NCT to me lol. 20+ members from Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, US, and Canada divided into 6 subunits. NCT 127 (experimental, hip hop, r&b), NCT Dream (pop, edm), WayV (Chinese subunit, hip hop, pop), NCT U (can consist of any members selected to fit the song), NCT DoJaeJung (funky, throwback pop), NCT New Team (brand new subunit, pop). There’s also the most interesting (to me) group Black Swan, a girl group that is all foreigners singing in Korean. Fun reaction! Definitely check out more DPR Ian and his collaborators.
