No one can do it like En Vogue!!! This was a great era of raw talent... No gimmicks! These ladies are singing live and not to mention they are singing background vocals without a track playing and dancing at the same time! Yet the vocals/harmonies are so tight... Cindy, Terry, Dawn and Maxine are the original "Funky Divas"... Some things CANNOT be duplicated, Period!!!

Yea...but wonder why the actual Female MC (Debbie T) couldn't be there to do it...
@desecration1713 жыл бұрын
@@Kwaku211 Because like in 99% of cases where a featured or guest artist is brought in they either can't afford them to come on tour, don't want them on the tour (just for one song), or there is a booking conflict. En Vogue was already getting screwed on the contract deal. Adding another mouth to feed for 3 minutes of stage work is simply cost inefficient. This is why artist typically write an alternative version of a collaboration, have someone from the group fill-in, play the original audio in the background, or they hire fill-ins (random local rappers, random background singers). For example if you go on the internet and type "Salt-N-Pepa Live Whatta Man" you'll find SNP did alot of performances without En Vogue using random people. I'm pretty sure Debbie T was aware of this when she contractually signed on to the song that she'd get no guaranteed appearance pay or be allowed to use the song for her own tours (not that she ever had one).

YAS DIVAS WERRK! TERRY!!! Opening Choreography was hers all the way. You cannot deny them all, but she truly has the, "Performance Edge" there & Vocally that kept the Group tight. Cindy added her Poise & Elegance that gave her the "Pageant" Class that Lead the Group as Women. Max and her, "Sophisticated Funk" was truly what gave the Group a bit of Jazzy-Soul appeal. Dawn was the "Sexy Rebel" that helped En Vogue stay on Trend, Out-of-the-Box, Edgy, & Bold. Individually they could do well, but as a Group? UNSTOPPABLE! EN VOUGE 4EVA'!
