After that, mostly drugs and fighting with the law. I have no sympathy for a person like him. But Ike has a story too, molested as a child etc. He worked hard, made money and people who can’t separate art from the person will have a hard time enjoying art in general. Especially great art as there often are some bruised souls behind it.

Ike definitely gives off 'commando' vibes in his body language ... it's painful to know that Tina endured so much abuse from him but found greater strength to end the abuse. A beautiful heart and spirit that makes her so endearing and timeless to generations of fans. I'm happy she found someone who loved and appreciated her from the inside out and helped her find peace and joy. A beautiful treasure who has left us be will never be forgotten. ❤💕

I’m watching this for the first time. And she was just amazing! I hadn’t heard of Tina before What’s Love Got to do with it. But I remember exactly where I was when I heard it. I couldn’t be older than 7 at the time, but I remember that song reaching soul. Almost as if the world was perfect for the duration of that song. I couldn’t make much sense of the lyrics I remember. It seems he was annoyed and didn’t want her to touch him. Tina seemed to want to comfort him but he clearly resented her for it. Very telling moment. Glad she found a man that truly valued and loved her and she got to live the way she wanted. Immense talent and a true queen. Rest in peace dear lady. There will never be another Tina Turner. A true icon.

OMG that second song. Have never heard that, that's deep and so beautiful. He's easy to despise yes, but was an important part of her path or dharma in this life. YES...AGREED. I've never heard this song before today and likely many others from their catalog. But I would say that the lyrics of songs of that time and particularly for this song were just raw and pure too if not poetic or metaphoric, or not always superficial compared to today's music. Another song they did that truly got my attention is also a slow ballad called "You Got What You Wanted." I'm not sure if you ever heard that number. But the lyrics of that song speaks to me too.
