@@nicolettafourikis927 I don’t agree. He made the 1st (depends on which definition you wanna go by) rock n roll ever made, way back in 1951. Made some great records afterwards, also with Tina. After that, mostly drugs and fighting with the law. I have no sympathy for a person like him. But Ike has a story too, molested as a child etc. He worked hard, made money and people who can’t separate art from the person will have a hard time enjoying art in general. Especially great art as there often are some bruised souls behind it.

Ike's father was beaten and died when Ike was 5. His stepfather was a violent alcoholic. He was sexually abused by two middle-aged women as a child. He had bipolar disorder and became a cocaine addict. You can see that he is mentally ill in this video. It's easy to hate people and act like they are evil and that it isn't due to any reason but that is a simplistic way to go through life. It's easy to have compassion for "good" people. True compassion means understanding why people do what they do and not needing to condemn them for it. You're just looking at his behavior. That's superficial. There is always a REASON why people are the way they are.

@@tootellustraight Not everyone can have the impeccable moral compass of an anonymous Internet critic. I don't care what anyone says, calling a dead man names from an anonymous alias is the mark of, well I'll just say it ... a hero. If Ike wasn't so evil, and was born just a little later, perhaps he too could have judged people anonymously on the Internet. Nah, few people are that brave. That said, please show some humility toward the less talented and imperfect people of the world. Many people want to call people names online without any risk to themselves, but few people have the courage and talent to actually pull it off. You nailed it, though. Swish! Nothing but net. @@criticalthought4910 just STOP 🛑. The fact that you’re defending a vicious, violent woman beater blows my mind. You are one psychologically screwed up person!! You’re either a man who sees nothing wrong with Ike’s behaviour given you are victim blaming Tina Turner or you are a woman who would do anything to keep a man including blaming a woman for a man’s violent ways.

Critical I agree. She spoke for him and about him in front of all. Maybe she was accustomed to being the spokesperson and not him but it came off disrespectful. Even Johnny clowned him for not speaking up.

You could see how Ike was getting mad and angered at Tina taking over by the way he dropped her hand twice. I’ll bet she paid the price for that after they got home. She was so amazing!! What a strong, beautiful soul…she’s like the person you think would live eternally. I never even knew she was battling her kidney disease- god bless that queen

@@lolodaniels415 Agreed. But he wouldn't talk, Johnny kept pointing questions his way and Ike just sat there. Then he got annoyed when she talked, and shoved her hand away.

When you think about it, Tina was so innovative here with her dancing and style/fashion; no one was doing this sort of thing. This sexy style of choreography and dress. She was a trailblazer, and Ike was along for the ride.

Yes, please give him that alone. When Tina left Ike, she said she didn’t want to do anymore soul/r&b music bc that was all Ike. It reminded her of the pain she endured. She pursued rock & roll

Ike screwed up his life, but he was underrated as a musician. He was a bandleader, and gave Tina her break. He screwed up his life. Tina deserves her props, and Ike deserves credit for the good and bad that he did. Also, even Tina admitted in an interview, that there were lies in the movie. Such as the rape scene. She went along with it and that put the nail in his coffin, career wise. Ii

The music saved her life! The horrific abuse and disrespect she mentally avoided using music and stage as her therapy! She survived and now her presence is forever immortal! RIP Queen 💔
