With built-in settings on many cameras and smart phones, time-lapse photography has grown incredibly popular. However, a few simple techniques can make a huge difference when creating compelling, beautiful time-lapses.
DPReview TV's Chris Niccolls, Jordan Drake, and Dale Baskin walk you through some easy ways to capture better time-lapses.

Yes, I'd like more of this. Multi axis motion control, specific work flow for different camera systems, thorough planning of a sequence vs trial and error... even telephoto astrophotography and use of zoom in time-lapse. Don't fear the math!!

Would definitely love to see more day to night and then night to day timelapses - especially how to process the images so that the transitions look smooth and natural. It is easy to do when it is all the same light, but when those changes happen it is very difficult. I would be very happy to see how to do that :)

This is sooooooo helpful. At the start I was prejudiced against timelapses because they are so often done to excite the human nervous system and not express any kind of reflective meaning or beauty. But wow, y'all, this was perfect. Thanks for doing grown-up videos that are packed with information and don't try to impress or rock us out with "music" that is really beer cans being fed through an Insinkerator. Ok, enough - really grateful for your videos. Yes, please, more videos about timelapses.

My compliments for an excellent video offering a broad overview of a subject about which I am very interested. My hope is you will produce future videos that offer detailed, specific recommendations for: further details of post-processing, including software and recommended minimum computer hardware requirements (RAM, disk storage, video cards, etc.); time intervals between photographs and shutter speeds for various time windows (say comparing a short, moving traffic time lapse to changes in scenes over periods of time that might reach a day or more); and more general night sky photography of stars and planets moving against a terrestrial foreground (similar to aurora photography but presumably with a few wrinkles). These additional suggestions would build on this video. Thanks for this informative and well-made video.

LRTimelapse offers really powerful tools like deflicker (correcting natural aperture variations) and scaling your RAW edits gradually between keyframes. I'm not aware of any competing software which offers similar capabilities.

Dear God yes! I'd love to hear about the night to day stuff and more about settings. Do you stick with a program, shutter or aperture priority or full manual with human triggered adjustments as you reach the limits of your settings? How do you smooth out the strobing when you change the settings? In short, yes please for a part two. Pretty please with a Canadian cherry on top. :)
