My guild had to ban DPS meters at the time because we kept trying to out do eachother and getting killed for this reason. After we did that, we sort of listened more. Cause with the DPS meters, it's like, if you arn't getting high numbers, you arn't pulling your weight.

There are healers with that same mentality as well. Instead of DPS they obsess over warcraft logs parsels. Then they believe they are the best thing ever, because their guild runs MC with 4 healers instead of 10 and has assigned him 2 personal innervates just so he can have all the healing done for himself. If you want to see people trying out all kinds of desperate, completely useless for the raid cheese strategies, competitive healing parsels is the place for you. Lengths these people will go to, to be #1 at something is astonishing.

We have people heal sniping and trying to top parses. This is why every other week we wipe on Vael. Healers are hurting my raid group more than helping because of the same reason you describe for dps. It is cancer for both sides. Just do what you're supposed to do. As a mage I finally got good DPS on Nef because we lucked into no druid call so our druid could decurse the tank. Some of my fellow mages only decurse when an aoe decurse goes out so they can ridicule and brag about their dispel amount on Warcraft logs. But when it matters they don't do it. Warcraft logs can help, but lately it's been hindering.

I was a healer in both Vanilla and in Classic and I'll admit, particularly in classic, if your dps was shit according to the meter, you were pretty low on my priority meter. I mean, it makes sense, right? Why would I waste my time healing the lower dps players when there's tanks to keep alive and high dps players to baby? If I've got nothing better to do and I have the mana to spare, then sure, I'll heal them. But that really doesn't happen very often. Also didn't help that in my guild, we had a chronic shortage of healers, so we ran most raids with less healers than is advisable, meaning priority was key for us. So there is some truth in that. If you're doing shit for damage, the healer won't give you the time of day unless there's literally nothing else for them to do. From my experience, at least. I hope other raid groups have a healthier mentality, lol.

I tank. I deal with this every fuckin raid, ESPECIALLY on Ony. And even after we succeed, I get shit in my whispers of dps insulting me because they died from immediately popping cds and pulling threat like idiots (fortunately only killing themselves and not the raid). "Get better gear and hold threat better." Funnily enough it's typically a dps warrior who obviously has never tanked in his life, and doesn't know how threat works. I call them budget rogues. In vanilla, this was never an issue. The community is ridiculous these days.

3:10 If you are a priest, make sure to cast Fade before HS out of a raid. That way you will make it home safe and with a repair bill not as big. Most of the time anyway.
